Now that NVIDIA has officially announced the 40-series GPUs, PNY is now announcing its version of the cards set to be released starting in October. NVIDIA says its Founders Edition RTX 4090 cards will be dropping on October 12. PNY meanwhile doesn’t give specific dates but does say the RTX 4090 will be released in the first half of the month. So there’s a good chance they’ll be releasing on the same date. Both the 4080 models will be releasing in November.
The RTX 40-series cards from PNY will be fairly similar to NVIDIA’s options, at least with most of the component makeup. The 4090 will come with 24GB of GDDR6X RAM, while the 4080 will come in 16GB and 12GB variants. Unlike NVIDIA’s Founders Edition offerings though, all three cards from PNY will have a visible triple-fan design.
They also utilize real-time ray tracing and the powerful DLSS 3 technology.
PNY RTX 40-series GPUs feature overclocking and ARGB customization
While NVIDIA’s Founders Edition cards generally have a clean and minimalist look to them, aftermarket cards from NVIDIA’s partners typically feature a little more style. One way PNY is implementing this is with EPIC-X RGB lighting. In addition to ARGB customization through its VelocityX control software.
Using the software, PNY says users can get the “ultimate controllable lighting experience with endless ARGB lighting possibilities.” The VelocityX software also lets users control and monitor stats like core temps and fan speed. As well as core clock and memory clock.
All three cards are compatible with DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1, and are PCIe 4.0. Additionally, PNY boasts optimal temps thanks to the triple-fan cooler design, with 8 heat pipes in the 4090 and 16GB 4080, and 7 heat pipes in the 12GB 4080. What’s more, is that the fans on all three cards are 100m using twin ball bearing fan hubs. There’s also an aluminum backplate to help protect the card’s internals.
And with the 4090, PNY added a base vapor chamber for additional cooling. PNY hasn’t announced official pricing yet. But once the cards launch, consumers will be able to pick them up through both Amazon and Best Buy, and directly through PNY’s website.
