In this article, we’ll compare two very interesting foldable smartphones, the OPPO Find N2 vs Xiaomi MIX Fold 2. These are both second iterations of foldable phones from their respective OEMs. Both have a lot to offer, and in some ways, they’re better than what Samsung has to offer. We’ve reviewed the OPPO Find N2 quite recently, and that phone managed to outshine its predecessor in pretty much every way.
That being said, these two phones are similar in some ways, but completely different in other ways. For example, they cater to different types of users due to the size difference. Also, unfortunately, neither of them is being sold outside of China as of now, but you can import them. We’ll first list their specifications, and will then move to compare them across a number of other categories.

OPPO Find N2 vs Xiaomi MIX Fold 2: Design
Both of these phones are made out of metal and glass, though the Find N2 also comes in a vegan leather variant. The OPPO Find N2 is considerably smaller, and it’s perfect for one-handed use when folded. The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 is quite large, but it’s also immensely thin when unfolded. The two phones do feel considerably different in the hand, and you really need to know what you’re into before you get either one of these.
The OPPO Find N2 is a lot shorter, and noticeably thicker than the MIX Fold 2. The thickness is especially noticeable when both phones are folded. Both phones offer gapless design, and excellent hinges. We’ll talk more about the creases in the next chapter. The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 is around 30 grams heavier than the Find N2 (depending on the model), which is definitely something you’ll feel in the hand. Both phones are quite slippery, though the Find N2 is a lot easier to use with one hand, especially its vegan leather model.
Both of these phones have a centered display camera hole on the outer display, while there is one such hole on the Find N2’s main panel as well, though in a different spot. The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 does not have a display camera hole on its main display at all, in fact, it doesn’t have a camera on that display either. They also look considerably different from the back. Their camera islands look entirely different, and are placed in different spots. Both phones feel truly premium in the hand, though. Do note that neither phone is IP rated, though, for water and dust resistance.
OPPO Find N2 vs Xiaomi MIX Fold 2: Display
The OPPO Find N2 includes a 7.1-inch 1792 x 1920 Foldable LTPO AMOLED display. That panel offers a 120Hz refresh rate, and supports HDR10+ content. It gets up to 1,550 nits of brightness at its peak. The cover display, on the other hand, measures 5.54 inches, and it offers a 2120 x 1080 resolution. It is an AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, and it’s protected by the Gorilla Glass Victus. This display also gets quite bright at 1,350 nits of peak brightness.
The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 utilizes an 8.02-inch main display with a resolution of 1914 x 2160. This is an LTPO2 OLED display that can project up to 1 billion colors. It has a 120Hz refresh rate, and supports HDR10+ content and Dolby Vision. It gets up to 1,300 nits of brightness at its peak, and it’s protected by the Schott UTG glass. The secondary panel measures 6.56 inches, and it’s a fullHD+ (2520 x 1080) display. This is also an AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, which supports HDR10+ content and Dolby Vision. It gets up to 1,300 nits of peak brightness, and it’s protected by the Gorilla Glass Victus.
All four displays on these two phones are excellent, to say the least. All of them offer a 120Hz refresh rate, and have excellent viewing angles. The colors are vivid, and the blacks are deep. The OPPO Find N2+s main display does have a slight advantage in the brightness department, while all displays offer excellent touch response. There’s really not much to complain about here, and truth be said, you’ll be more than happy with either phone when it comes to displays. On top of everything we’ve said, both phones hide the crease really well, a lot better than the Galaxy Z Fold 4.
OPPO Find N2 vs Xiaomi MIX Fold 2: Performance
These two phones have the same SoC. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 fuels both smartphones, and that’s a good thing. This is still one of the best mobile SoCs in the market, with great performance, thermals, and power consumption. The OPPO Find N2 combines it with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 3.1 flash storage. The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 includes up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 3.1 flash storage.
Both of these phones are absolute beasts in terms of performance. They fly through everything you throw at them, and that includes gaming. They’re great at multitasking, consuming multimedia, browsing, processing images and video, and so on. You can run even the most intensive games on both phones, and even though they do get quite warm, we didn’t notice any performance drop offs because of it. In addition to that, chances are both phones will continue performing the same way for quite some time. Just note that you’ll need to sideload the Google Play Store in order to use both phones, as they’re not officially sold in global markets.
OPPO Find N2 vs Xiaomi MIX Fold 2: Battery
The OPPO Find N2 includes a 4,520mAh battery, while the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 has a 4,500mAh battery. This may seem odd as the Find N2 is considerably smaller, and the same goes for its displays, and yet it has a larger battery. Well, OPPO played it smart, as the Find N2 does offer excellent battery life, unlike the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2. So, if battery life is important to you, the Find N2 is the way to go.
The OPPO Find N2 has no problem crossing the 7-hour screen-on-time mark, and I even managed to pull out over 8 hours a number of times. The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 is closer to 6 hours of screen-on-time, though it can go well into the 6 hours, actually. If you do play games, you can expect worse results. Also, your mileage may vary, as you’re using different apps, plus have different usage habits, and different signal strength.
Both devices do offer quite fast charging. You will get 67W wired charging on both of these smartphones, actually. Both phones should be able to charge all the way to 100% in around 40 minutes. And yes, the chargers are included in both cases. Do note that the Find N2 also supports 10W reverse wired charging. Wireless charging is not supported on either phone.
OPPO Find N2 vs Xiaomi MIX Fold 2: Cameras
In the camera department, both phones are well-equipped. The OPPO Find X5 Pro includes a 50-megapixel main camera, a 48-megapixel ultrawide unit, and a 32-megapixel telephoto camera. It also includes Hasselblad’s expertise as part of the package, mainly for the color science department. The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 has a 50-megapixel main camera, a 13-megapixel ultrawide unit, and an 8-megapixel telephoto camera. Leica’s lenses are included here.
Truth be said, both of these phones perform really well in the camera department. Both phones tend to saturate photos a bit, but not too much. Just to make them pop a little bit. They both provide extremely sharp images, especially during the day. They do well in HDR conditions, and also during the night. The OPPO Find N2 does perform better when ultrawide and telephoto cameras are in question, though. The video recording is good on both phones.
Neither of these two phones is the best camera smartphone on the market but they’re both more than good enough. Not many people will find complaints here, especially considering these are foldable smartphones we’re talking about.
Audio
If you’re looking for a phone with great speakers, both of these fit the bill. Both phones have stereo speakers. The OPPO Find N2 comes with Dolby support, while the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2’s speakers are tuned by Harman Kardon. Both sets of speakers are punchy, offer detailed sound, some bass, and are better than the vast majority of other speakers out there.
Unfortunately, however, neither phone offers an audio jack. So you’ll have to either utilize the Type-C port that both phones have, or a Bluetooth connection. Speaking of which, the Find N2 supports Bluetooth 5.3, while the MIX Fold 2 supports Bluetooth 5.2.
