Samsung held its first Unpacked event of the year today, we expect another in April and another in August for more products. But today, the star of the show was the Galaxy S23 series. So of course, OnePlus, a big competitor to Samsung, decided to live-tweet the event. And throw it’s own two cents in there.
One tweet from OnePlus that really got out our attention was “Me using the 200mp camera to find a charger in the box.”

Of course, that’s not all that OnePlus did. They also asked “Why do they call it the Galaxy? Astronomical pricing”. Now, the Galaxy S23 series is the same price as the S21 and S22 series the previous two years. So not sure what they are getting at here. And OnePlus has not announced pricing for the OnePlus 11 just yet. So it’ll be interesting to see if they match Samsung’s pricing or not.

OnePlus is trolling Samsung a lot here, with pricing, colors, etc. Which is not OnePlus’ strong suite. The OnePlus 11 is available in, two colors. Green and black. Meanwhile the Galaxy S23 series is available in four colors (or eight, if you buy from Samsung.com). Which is a lot more than what OnePlus does.
Not to mention the fact that OnePlus phones seem to break pretty easily. The last two models from OnePlus, JerryRigEverything was able to bend in half relatively easy. That’s not the case for Samsung.
OnePlus also wants to talk about “a great director can make any camera look good”, but Samsung isn’t the only one giving their phones to Hollywood to use for their event. OnePlus does this quite a bit themselves, gets a good photographer to take photos with their phone for their event. Instead of giving it to everyday people, like our Moms, to take photos and see how they turn out.
It’ll be interesting to see how the OnePlus 11 stacks up, though we won’t have to wait long here.
