Apex Legends is getting a shakeup with its Resurrection update

Just over the horizon at Respawn Entertainment, a team of developers is working on the Apex Legends: Resurrection update. It’s poised to be a sizeable shakeup to the game that breathes some new life into the massively popular battle royale. Including things like a rework to Revenant from head to toe, a redesign of the charge Rifle, new maps, and an update to ranked play.
It’s shaping up to be a fresh spin on certain parts of the game. And could be an exciting update for existing and returning players. One of the bigger changes coming is the rework to Revenant. This starts with an outward revamp in the form of a new look. But under the surface-level changes is where the real excitement is happening. In Apex Legends: Resurrection, Revenant is getting a completely new set of abilities.
He now has a passive that lets him highlight nearby enemies who have low health. Giving him a slight advantage to hunt down and take out enemies who are already close to death. His Tactical ability, Shadow Pounce, lets him leap forward, and this can even be charged for further lunges to help close gaps. Finally, his Ultimate Forged Shadows creates a shield of hardened shadows around him. While active, direct damage is negated and the ability regenerates after breaking. Players can also refresh the shadows and Revenant’s tactical by taking out players.
Ranked play gets a refresh in the Apex Legends: Resurrection update
Ranked playlists aren’t everyone’s cup of tea. But for those that revel in the chaos and feed off climbing up the ladder, the upcoming update is introducing some interesting changes. Respawn says it’s “tightened up the matchmaking, tuned LP gains, and made eliminations a steady contributor to your rise through the ranks.” The basic breakdown is that players will see overall better matchmaking that feels more rewarding. Although Respawn says this will have other impacts too. Ultimately making it a slower climb to the Masters tier for casual players.
Ranked rewards are getting a rework too. Specifically with a change to the ranked dive trail. Instead of receiving this reward when reaching Diamond+, players will now get an epic banner frame. This change is intended to give players something to flex for their hard-earned efforts to reach the diamond+ rank. The ranked dive trail unlock achieved this same level of flex. But it also had unintended consequences of either players avoiding the ranked dive trail owner during the drop, or actively pursuing them throughout the match. And Respawn says it felt this was giving other players valuable information during a critical moment.
There’s quite a few more changes coming with Resurrection that players might find interesting. And you can check all of it out in Respawn’s official post. The post Apex Legends is getting a shakeup with its Resurrection update appeared first on Android Headlines.
