Samsung Galaxy Tab A4S FCC Certification Reveals Some Details

The rumoured Samsung Galaxy Tab A4S has shown up on FCC’s website. And thanks to the certifications, we now know some more specifications of the tablet.
The Galaxy Tab A4S, which goes by the model number SM-T307U, will have a dimension of 201.9 mm x 124.4 mm. The documentation also reveals that it will have an overall diagonal of 237.1 mm and display diagonal of 213.3 mm.
The slate will apparently pack in a 4,860mAh battery which will support 15W fast charging. It will also offer LTE connectivity.
Beyond that, the documents have not revealed anything substantial. Thus, the key details of the tablet are still a mystery.
Galaxy Tab A4s Is Expected To Be A Mid-Tier Tablet
According to previous reports, this is a mid-range slate. Thus, we can assume that it will have a mid-tier SoC under the hood, probably an Exynos chipset.
The Galaxy Tab A4s was also certified by the Bluetooth SIG a few days back. That listing also claims that it will feature Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.
Prior to that, the slate was seen in the Wi-Fi Alliance database. It was then that it emerged that it will support dual-band Wi-Fi. Other than that, it was also revealed that the tablet will offer 32GB of internal memory and ship with Android 9 Pie.
The tablet is tipped to sport an 8-inch screen. Apparently, it will only be available in the colour brown initially. Later on, we might see more hues.
As far as specifications are concerned, this is all we know for now. However, since the tablet has received certification from various bodies, its launch seems imminent. And thus, we can expect more leaks to surface in the coming days.
As far as the release date is concerned, there seem to be two possibilities. Some believe that the Galaxy Tab A4s will be unveiled during CES 2020. It will take place in Las Vegas from January 7 to January 10. If this doesn’t materialize, Samsung may launch the slate alongside the Galaxy S20 series in February.
Whether the tablet will be shipped internationally or limited to select markets remain to be seen. Since this is a mid-range slate, we expect the price to be reasonable.
It is believed that the affordable Galaxy Tab A and Tab E slates make up most of Samsung’s tablet sales. The market is currently dominated by Apple. A varied portfolio is what the South Korean giant probably needs to boost shipments.
Galaxy Tab S6 5G Is Also Apparently Coming Soon
Other than the Galaxy Tab A4s, Samsung is also rumoured to launch the Galaxy Tab S6 5G sometime soon. It will likely be the first 5G tablet, and will probably be available in South Korea only at launch.
It is expected to inherit the same specifications as the LTE Galaxy Tab S6. This means it will sport an HDR10+ display and have the Snapdragon 855 SoC under the hood. The regular Galaxy Tab S6 is also compatible with the S Pen and users can also attach a keyboard cover to it. Other attractions include DeX integration and AKG tuned stereo speakers. Price starts at $649.99.
