You can currently get the Samsung Galaxy A51 for free from Verizon Wireless, when you upgrade, or add a new line to your account, and use Verizon’s payment plan.
This isn’t a big caveat really, as long as you plan to stay with Verizon for the next 24 months. As the phone is going to be „free” via monthly bill credits. So if you opt to leave before the two years is up, you’ll forfeit the remaining bill credits and owe them to Verizon instead.
Normally the Galaxy A51 is $399, so this is a really great deal to be honest. And it is a great phone too.
The Galaxy A51 sports a 6.5-inch FHD+ display, the Exynos 9611 chipset inside, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It also has a pretty large 4,000mAh capacity battery inside. Which is going to keep your phone running all day long then some.
Surprisingly, at this price point, the Galaxy A51 sports a quad-camera setup. There’s a 48-megapixel main sensor with PDAF. And then there is a 12-megapixel ultrawide, and a 5-megapixel macro lens. There is also a 5-megapixel depth lens, which you won’t ever be able to use. This is to help you get a better bokeh effect when taking pictures and such.
On the front of the phone, there is a 32-megapixel sensor, which should be pretty good for taking selfies.
This is a 4G LTE device, and supports Verizon’s 4G LTE Advanced network, so you’ll get faster speeds on the network. This is not a 5G device – there is a 5G Galaxy A51, but that is not yet available and won’t cost this little.
For a $400 smartphone you could do a lot worse than the Galaxy A51, it’s not the best but not the worst. And getting it for free is always nice.
