New Features Coming To Google Classroom And Meet

In an official blog post, Google has unveiled that it is bringing some new features for Google Classroom and Meet. Moreover, these features are aimed to provide better control and improved interactivity for the users.
This COVID-19 era has given rise to the work-from-home or study-from-home culture. And for this, platforms like Zoom are at an all-time high in terms of usage.
Google also did not fall behind and it came with some impressive features for its already available platforms, Google Meet, and Google Classroom.
Today, Google announced some new features for Google Classroom along with its future plans, which gives a preview of features that will come to Google Meet.
More interactivity features will make their way to Google Meet in the coming months
When it comes to the upcoming features on Google Meet, there are tons of them. Firstly by September, a new grid 7×7 to accommodate 49 students at once is on the list. Furthermore, a Jamboard in Meet will be added to let students share their ideas and views about lessons being taught.
In October, Google plans to bring a custom background feature to give more customization options to the users. However, this can be disabled by the admin at any time.
The attendance tracking feature to track student’s attendance will be added. Another convenient feature for educators is the Breakout Room that will allow the teachers to split the classes into small group discussions.
Besides, later this year, Google plans to bring the hand-raising feature to help the student raise a query during the class. Q&A feature is also one thing that will benefit the students so they can clarify their doubts without disturbing the flow of the class by creating polls.
Google Classroom also gets a bunch of new features
Google Classroom is also not far behind in terms of features. To keep a track of the work or assignments, a to-do widget for students and a to-review widget for teachers will be added by Google.
Moreover, teachers can send a link to their students to let them join the class from anywhere. Teachers can use this link-sharing platform with any of the messaging platforms like WhatsApp to let students connect to classes.
Google is increasing the limit of originality reports educators can use per-class from three to five. The G Suite Enterprise Education license using teachers will continue to get unlimited originality support.
Apparently, instructors with G Suite Enterprise Education licenses can check plagiarism between student and school.
They will also be able to download, save, and share the reports with students, parents, and administrators as needed.
Besides, originality reports can also be run on Google Slides along with Google Docs. Soon multiple language support will also be included in the Classroom.
Additionally, Google will launch the Classroom in 10 languages which include Bengali, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil, and Urdu. To learn about Classroom features that will be added in the future, you can head here.
