Galaxy Tab Active Pro & Tab S5e Get September 2020 Security Update

Samsung has started rolling out the September 2020 Android security patch update for a couple of its tablets. The September update is now rolling out to the Wi-Fi only variant of the Galaxy Tab S5e in Colombia, Chile, and Trinidad and Tobago.
For the Galaxy Active Pro tablets, the September update is currently limited only to the LTE variant. Moreover, the latest update is only available in Australia and Mexico. The update patches several vulnerabilities from both Samsung and Google.

A few of the high severity bugs even affect all the devices featuring Qualcomm chipsets. Notably, both these tablets come powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processors. The changelog doesn’t mention any other changes apart from the September 2020 security patch.
The Galaxy Tab S5e gets the new update with the firmware version T720XXS1BTI3. Whereas, the update for the Galaxy Tab Active Pro comes with firmware version T545XXU2BTG3. Since it is an incremental rollout, it will take a few days to reach all the eligible devices.
No mention of the rollout in other markets
The same update should be soon rolling out to the unlocked variants in other markets as well. For the carrier-locked tablets, the update has to come from their respective carriers. In the meantime, the users can also manually check for a new OTA update by going to Settings > Software update > Download and Install.
If the new update is available, tap on the „Install now” button to download and install the latest update. Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab Active Pro and Galaxy Tab S5e with Android 9.0 Pie out of the box. Recently, the company released the Android 10 OTA update for both these tablets.
While the Galaxy Tab S5e gets One UI 2.1 update, the Galaxy Tab Active Pro received One UI 2.0 update. Going by the priority list, both these tablets might not get the latest One UI 3.0 update based Android 11 anytime soon. However, the company might rollout the newly released One UI 2.5 in the coming months.
Unlike the Galaxy Tab S5e, the One UI 3.0 could be the last major update for the Galaxy Tab Active Pro. Samsung promised to provide three years of OS updates for the flagship Galaxy smartphones, Galaxy Tab S tablets, and select Galaxy A smartphones.
The Galaxy Tab S5e along with the other Galaxy Tab S5 tablets should be getting one more major Android update after the upcoming One UI 3.0 update.
