By now you’ve probably heard about the colossal disaster of a launch that Cyberpunk 2077 has had, causing CD Projekt to offer a refund to anyone that wished to have one.
The refund for the game though are viable for users who purchased the game for the PS4 and Xbox One. Which also work for the PS5 and Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. If you purchased a digital copy of Cyberpunk 2077 from either console platform, you’re allo0wed to ask for a refund and both Sony and Microsoft will appease.
Not everyone is going to need or want to go this far. Sure there are bugs, but on the next-gen consoles the game runs pretty decent for most. However the majority of people on console have it for the current-gen systems. And the biggest issues are with the original PS4 and Xbox One.
If you wanted to get a refund on Cyberpunk 2077 for the PS4 or PS5, the process is quick enough if you know where to look. And this handy little guide shows you how to get a refund on Cyberpunk 2077 for either generation of the console.
How to get a refund on Cyberpunk 2077 for PS4 and PS5
Sony has set up a special landing page for anyone that wishes to get a refund. So to kick things off you’ll need to start there.
Head to this web page, and if you’re not already signed into your PSN account, then do so once the page loads as you won’t be able to continue until you’re signed in. Sony will need to tie the purchase of the game to your account after all.
Fill out a form

The most straightforward way to get this process finished is just to fill out a small form at the landing page for refunds linked above.
This isn’t even a form at all really. You simply head to that web page, login with your PSN account, and there will be a button at the bottom of the page you can press to request the refund. That’s it.
There is of course another, slightly more lengthy way to request a refund. Which we’ll go through below.
Open up a chat with the Refund chatbot

If you want to open a dialogue with the chat bot to request a refund that way, you can do that as well. Click on this link to go to this refunds section for PlayStation Store purchases, and there will be a link there you can click that says Refund Chatbot.
Once you click this link, the chat will open and the bot will walk you through the steps. Note that you do have to be signed into your PSN account for this process as well.
The chat bot will ask you a series of questions, each of which will have a button you can click to give your response.
The first being Refund Request, then another asking if you’re ready to continue. The chatbot will ask you a few more questions and then give you a support ID. it will then ask you if you want to speak to a live agent.
Select yes and the chat will move to a live agent to finalize the request. The agent basically decides if you get the refund or not. But given the issues with Cyberpunk 2077, you shouldn’t have an issue. Plus, Sony confirmed that refunds will be granted on digital purchases of the game.
Sony hasn’t confirmed how long the refunds will take. But if the refund is approved and once it goes through, the game will be removed from your library. Sony has also confirmed though that your save data will not be impacted. So if you pick the game back up later on, you can pick up where you left off.
