Temtem

Price: $39.99
Where To Buy: PlayStation Store

Temtem is the game you should consider if you want something to play that’s both massively multiplayer and in the monster collection genre. And as a nice bonus it’s a decent title for kids to play.
So if you’re planning on letting your kids access the PS5, this is a title that they can enjoy along with you.
In Temtem, you’ll be able to play through a sizeable story campaign where you’re a kid trying to become the best Temtem trainer there is. Think of this kind of like Pokémon but on a little bit of a larger scale since it’s massively multiplayer.
There’s also a co-op mode where you can adventure together with friends, and a rich online world to converse and interact with other players. You will need to have an active PlayStation Plus subscription to access the online content though.
You also have the ability to customize your in-game house. So if that sort of gameplay is your thing it’s a neat little addition to the game. In addition to all of this Temtem also offers competitive content, and a growing list of events, new content and more that’s going to be added to the game over time.
Haven

Price: $24.99
Where To Buy: PlayStation Store

Haven is a great game to pick up for a few reasons. For one it’s only $25 so it’s at a really affordable price point and it’s really a steal due to the quality of the content. This is the regular retail price, too.
In Haven, the story follows two people in love who are from opposite ends of the social ladder. Yet, nothing will keep them apart if they have anything to say about it. The game is about the story of these two young individuals who escape their home planet to be with each other.
And the planet that you end up on is filled with things to explore and wonders to see. Haven is an RPG adventure game, so there’s plenty of dialogue. It also features turn-based RPG combat.
Haven is a unique emotional ride that tugs at the heart strings thanks to its relatable story premise. But there’s also just enough unrealistic content to make it a really cool journey on a distant planet. Teeming with life and its own set of challenges.
Haven is also not a very difficult game to play. Which makes it the perfect game for a more relaxing gaming experience. Looking to unwind with a game free of any hectic or stressful content? Haven is that game. And it’s beautiful for it.
Plus, the visuals of the game aren’t too shabby either. In fact they’re quite good and you come to realize that the more that you play it. This is easily one of the best games to land on PS5.
DIRT 5

Price: From $39.99
Where To Buy: Amazon, Best Buy, PlayStation Store

DIRT 5 is the latest game in the long-running series from Codemasters, an off-road rally racing game with next-gen graphics, loads of cars that you can customize and more.
The game features 10 different locations to race on with over 70 different routes between them. You’ll have both a single player campaign to play through as well as online gameplay against other players.
You will have a pretty large selection of cars to drive, though many you will of course have to unlock through gameplay progression. This includes cars from Ford, Subaru, Porsche, Volkswagen and more. You even get to race buggies in certain races.
This is another game that will require a subscription to PlayStation Plus for the online content. Which supports up to 12 players at a time.
Like many games it seems these days, DIRT 5 also has a photo mode. Which you might find yourself spending hours interacting with once you really get into snapping some amazing shots.
If you like racing titles, this is definitely a game on PS5 worth checking out and one of the best PS5 games available right now.
Godfall

Price: From $49.99
Where To Buy: Amazon, Target, Best Buy, PlayStation Store

Godfall may have missed the mark for some, but don’t let that deter you. Godfall is a fun action-filled looter slasher that has some really amazing graphics and even better story and combat.
As this is a melee looter title, you’ll work your way through the game’s main campaign, leveling up and finding better gear from the enemies you kill out in the world. Though the story is definitely a great part about this game, the real reward is all of the loot. As it tends to be with games like this. So expect to be constantly searching for more powerful, better pieces of gear to outfit your character with.
You are a warrior attempting to save your world. Your only chance at settings things right are the Valorplates. Extremely powerful sets of armor that let you wield weapons and abilities of untold strength. The further you get into the game, the more Valorplates you can unlock, changing up your playstyle as you see fit.
Each Valorplate will have its own unique abilities, and generally works best with a certain type of weapon. Although you should be able to equip any weapon you come across regardless of the Valorplate that you have on.
You can play through the entirety of the Godfall campaign solo if you wish. But the game does also support online play and co-op play. So you can party up with strangers or friends if you want to at any point in time.
Sackboy: A Big Adventure

Price: $59.99
Where To Buy: Amazon, B&H, Target, Best Buy, PlayStation Store

Sackboy is a platforming adventure game that is not only fun for adults but another game on this list that is a great title for kids. Which makes it an easy pickup for anyone that got a PS5 this holiday as the whole family can enjoy it.
In Sackboy: A Big Adventure, you will have to overcome a series of different challenging tasks across numerous levels. You can play solo or with friends online or in co-op, and customize your Sackboy characters with different fun and unique outfits. Some of which are themed after different characters from different games.
This is the newest game in the Little Big Planet series. Though it’s not necessarily a sequel of Little Big Planet 3 from the PS4. Journey through handcrafted levels each with their own set of challenges and many different hidden puzzle elements that you will have to discover to continue.
Sackboy: A Big Adventure is one of the best games on PS5 and is a great option for anyone that is looking for a game that’s suitable for everyone.
Immortals: Fenyx Rising

Price: From $39.99
Where To Buy: Amazon, Best Buy, PlayStation Store

Coming from Ubisoft, Immortals: Fenyx Rising is an RPG game that puts you in the role of Fenyx, a winged demigod. The greek gods are in trouble and it’s your job to save them.
When it comes to gameplay, Immortals: Fenyx Rising has been most closely compared to the likes of Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild and Genshin Impact. And quite honestly it is very close to the style of those two games.
It’s jampacked with puzzles that will unlock all sorts of rewards from gear to useful items that may come in handy on your quest. You also get a large collection of gear to acquire.
The game also features a large, explorable world and plenty of creatures that would see you fail on your quest. From the lowest of the low enemies to the most powerful boss fights, each interaction with an enemy poses an opportunity to help you gain power and get stronger. Letting you unlock new abilities that could make or break your next battle.
This is a strictly single player experience. So this is one you can enjoy from beginning to end completely solo without the pitfalls that sometimes come along with online gameplay.
Warhammer: Chaosbane

Price: $59.99
Where To Buy: Amazon, Best Buy, PlayStation Store

If you like hack and slash action RPG games then Warhammer: Chaosbane is one that you’ll want to check out. It features an isometric camera view that is reminiscent of games like Diablo, so the gameplay should feel somewhat familiar if you’ve ever played any of the Diablo games.
There are six different playable character classes, and you can choose to play the game content solo or with others in either local or online co-op. The classes include the original four which are the Imperial Soldier, Wood Elf Scout, Slayer, and the High Elf Mage, as well as the newer Dwarf Engineer and the Witch Hunter classes.
As noted this is a game you can play solo but it was optimized to be played in a cooperative state with other players. So this might be one that’s best enjoyed with friends. That doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with it alone, but it definitely is one that takes advantage of having others with you on the adventure.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

Price: From $39.99
Where To Buy: Amazon, Best Buy, Target, PlayStation Store

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is not only one of the best games on PS5 it’s also in the running for the best Assassin’s Creed game to date. And there have been many of them.
The setting of Valhalla takes you into the world of the Vikings, seeking out a new home to settle your people. Your own land is beginning to reach an inhabitable state, so you must take your people elsewhere if you are to survive.
Since this is an Assassin’s Creed game the world you explore is massive. There are hundreds of quests and side quests to complete. And as always, stealth combat. Though you are a Viking and don’t necessarily have to confine yourself to being stealthy in every action.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla also lets you choose between either a male or female character named Eivor. Making this second game in the series that gives you a little bit of leniency on the game’s main protagonist. Following Assassin’s Creed Odyssey in this respect.
Normally this game is $60 for the standard PS5 version, but you can pick it up for as low as $40 for the physical copy.
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales

Price: $49.99
Where To Buy: Amazon, B&H, Target, Best Buy, PlayStation Store

Everyone’s favorite web head is back in the second game in the Spider-Man series from Insomniac Games. Swing your way around a vast and rich New York City doing what you do best. Fighting crime.
Like the last Marvel’s Spider-Man game, you can unlock a myriad of different costumes from the Spider-Man universe. But the real gem of this game is the combat and story. It also features some excellent visuals if you’re playing the PS5 version.
With great power comes great responsibility. And a responsible PS5 owner would ensure that this is one of the games in their library of titles. Because it’s just that good.
Demon’s Souls

Price: $69.99
Where To Buy: Amazon, B&H, Target, Best Buy, PlayStation Store

Rounding out our list is probably the best PS5 game out right now. And is likely to be one of the best PS5 games of the console’s life cycle.
This version of Demon’s Souls is a faithful remake of the original that released for the PS3. And although there have been a few changes here and there, such as the overhauled graphics and a handful of different things like in-game items that weren’t available before, most of the game stays true to the original.
Combat is still punishing. And each encounter you finish is immensely rewarding. If you fancy the difficult games that come with a deep sense of accomplishment in knowing that it will be too hard for some to complete, don’t miss this one.
Once you get the hang of things, combat is extremely fun and you’ll no doubt spend hours replaying the game with new classes or trying out new tactics to beat certain encounters. Not to mention seeking out new and powerful gear to help you on the crazy journey of trying to get a platinum trophy.
