As we move closer to the next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event on January 14, 2021, more details about the Galaxy Buds Pro keep popping up. Several leaks over the past few weeks have already revealed the buds’ design, key specs, and their European pricing. Now, a fresh set of leaks has left little to imagine about the new TWS earphones from Samsung.
Galaxy Buds Pro price and specs leaked
To begin with, leaked images of Samsung’s own marketing slide, shared by WalkingCat on Twitter, reveal that the Galaxy Buds Pro will cost $199 at launch. That’s a $30 hike from the launch price of the Galaxy Buds Live. However, the new earphones still appear very well-priced for what they offer.
The slide, that compares the specs of Buds Pro with those of Buds Live and Buds+, reveal that the upcoming buds will offer more efficient and powerful active noise cancellation (ANC). We already know that the Buds Pro will have multiple levels of ANC, rather than just a single option to turn on/off ANC. The new buds tout 35db noise canceling to support improved, „intelligent” active noise canceling.
The Galaxy Buds Pro will feature 11mm woofers and 6.5mm tweeters with coaxial dual speakers. They have an IPX7 sweat and water resistance rating. This is a significant upgrade from an IPX2 rating on Galaxy Buds+ and Buds Live. The Buds Pro also supports dual connections and Bixby integration, which is lacking on Galaxy Buds+.
The new pair of earphones will include a 2-way speaker like the Galaxy Buds+ and feature three microphones. Other notable features include 3D spatial audio for videos, conversation mode, improved multi-level Ambient Sound mode, and more. The leaked slide also mentions a new Galaxy Buds widget but it’s unclear what the widget will offer.
Decent battery life with
The Galaxy Buds Pro is rumored to pack a 61mAh battery inside each bud, with the charging case housing a 472mAh battery. As per the latest leak, the buds will offer up to eight hours of playtime on a single charge. The case can supply additional 20 hours of life to the buds. You get a maximum of 4.5 hours of talk time with the buds alone, or up to 15 hours with the case.
The battery life of the buds alone isn’t as impressive as the Buds+. However, the charging case is there to back you up when needed. The new buds also support fast wired charging through a USB Type-C port as well as wireless charging for a quick top-up of the battery juice.
Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Buds Pro alongside the Galaxy S21 series early next month. The new buds may arrive in Phantom Black, Phantom Silver, and Phantom Violet colors.
