A well-known tipster has just shared the very first image of the Huawei P50 Pro, allowing us to take a look at its design. This image comes from @OnLeaks, and this is a render, not a real-life image.
Leaked render allows us to take the very first look at the Huawei P50 Pro
That being said, if you take a look at it, you’ll notice that Huawei is sticking to its drastically-curved display. Such displays are known as ‘waterfall’ panels, and you can clearly see that it’s heavily curved.
The bezels are almost non-existent here, judging by this render, and they may even be uniform. Now, you’ll also notice that the phone sports a centered display camera hole. That means that Huawei will ditch the dual front camera setup.
This decision makes for a much more appealing device, design-wise. The source mentions that the device features a 6.6-inch display, and that it is 159mm high, and 73mm wide (approximately).
That actually means that it will be more compact than other phones with such display size. Those heavily-pronounced curves (mainly the curved display) are probably the reason for it, in combination with thin bezels, of course.
The phone will include a standard earpiece, it seems.
The phone will also include a standard earpiece, not a magnetic earpiece speaker system found in the P40 series. That is basically all the information that the source provided. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance to see the back side of the phone.
The Huawei P50 Pro will likely be made out of metal and glass. It will be fueled by the Kirin 1020 SoC, the company’s brand new flagship processor. This smartphone will likely launch in H1 2021, but we still don’t know when.
Unfortunately, it will arrive without Google Services. It remains to be seen if Huawei will be allowed to use Google Services in the post-Trump era, but for the time being, it still is not. The phone is expected to ship with Android, but with HMS instead of GMS. We’re guessing that Harmony OS is still not ready for primetime.
