The Galaxy Watch Active 2 may be getting a little long in the tooth at this point, but Samsung is breathing some new life into it with a just released Rose Gold color.
Prior to the release of this new color option Samsung offered the Galaxy Watch Active 2 in a few variations. Aqua Black, Cloud Silver, Gold, and Pink Gold. Which came with Black, Silver, and Pink colored bands respectively.
Those are the official colors that were available to US consumers. There was also the Under Armour Edition, the Golf Edition, and the special edition version of the watch that launched alongside the Galaxy Z Flip Tom Ford Edition. Which had a band that matched the aesthetic of the fashion brand just like the phone.
With the new Rose Gold color, the Galaxy Watch Active 2 comes with a „Phantom Violet” color band. So if purple is your color, maybe it’s time for a new watch.
The Rose Gold Galaxy Watch Active 2 is available for $99
Those looking to grab this new version of the Galaxy Watch Active 2 won’t just have the choice of a new color, they’ll also get the watch at a pretty steep discount.
Normally this retailed for $249.99. But Samsung is now offering the watch at $99. So you save $150 off the regular retail price of the Galaxy Watch Active 2. Of course this is an older watch. One that Samsung could replace later this year. So steep discounts are in order if the company wants to really move some units of this device before that potential replacement arrives.
You can order the watch from Samsung and from Amazon. And it seems to be available from of Samsung’s other retail partners. Such as Best Buy. Worth noting is that neither Amazon nor Best Buy seem to be offering the $99 price on the watch.
So Samsung is the best place to go if you want to save some money.
The new color came at a good time
Samsung made the (likely very conscious) decision to introduce the new color of the Galaxy Watch Active 2 at what seems like the perfect time.
The watch may be older, but Samsung just started sending out a big software update for it earlier in January. That update brought in a handful of useful new features. Which in turn could easily make the Galaxy Watch Active 2 more enticing to consumers.
It’s also possible that simply adding the new color could drive interest. Either way, $99 is a steal of a price on a great smartwatch.
