Pixel 3 & Pixel 3a Will Get New & Improved Night Sight Feature

Google is bringing the new & improved Night Sight feature to the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3a smartphones.
The reason that’s important is because the new Night Sight allows for astrophotography shots.
This is a feature which was highlighted during Google’s announcement of the Pixel 4. And, one of its standout features as the images produced with this improvement looked noticeably better.
Night Sight on the Pixel 3 will be better than ever
With a new astrophotography mode on the way the Pixel 3 will be better than ever when it comes to night shots.
The Night Sight feature was already highly capable of producing good images in very low lighting. It was even capable of capturing images of the sky. They just didn’t turn out as good as they will once this feature arrives.
That being said there will be a marked difference between the shots on the Pixel 3 series and the Pixel 4 series. The Pixel 4 has better sensors and other hardware. So naturally these images will turn out better.
The enhanced version of Night Sight is included with Google Camera 7.1. So, you may get the astrophotography benefits when the app updates.
Google doesn’t mention however when exactly the Pixel 3 series will get this improvement. With this being the case, it might be a little bit of a wait for the app to update on its own.
No mention of the Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL
Just because Google is bringing this feature to the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3a devices, users shouldn’t assume that the Pixel 2 family is included too.
In fact, it’s more likely that it’s not. Google specifically mentions only the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3a alongside the Pixel 4. However, this doesn’t mean the Pixel 2 won’t get the feature.
It’ll be integrated with Google Camera 7.1, and the Pixel 2 family of devices does have the Google Camera along with Night Sight.
Again though, if the enhanced version of Night Sight were available on the Pixel 2, the hardware is even less powerful here than the Pixel 4 than the Pixel 3 series is, so image quality for astrophotography shots wouldn’t be as good as either. This is something to keep in mind, as it might just be a good idea to upgrade.

#NightSight already helps you take beautiful photos in the dark. Now you can use it for shots of the night sky. Coming to Pixel 3a and Pixel 3 as well as #pixel4. #madebygoogle pic.twitter.com/o4bORnPc6j
