Google is starting to make better and better decisions with Stadia, and has confirmed that it will be offering refunds on the December Pro titles.
Yesterday, Google announced that next month’s Pro games will be Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, and Farming Simulator 19 Platinum Edition. The only downside to this was that some users no doubt bought those games prior to the announcement.
Specifically Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition given it’s highly advertised cheap $10 sale price. Some users likely felt a little bit slighted. The good news is Google is doing right by anyone who purchased one or both games.
Google Stadia refunds will be allowed outside of the normal window
Normally, Google will issue a refund on any game purchase you make. But, only if you have played less than 2 hours of the game. It also has to be within 14 days of the purchase date.
Since it’s sort of the season of giving and giving thanks in the US, you can look at this gesture as a way for Google to give back. That being said, it’s more about Google being understanding of the situation and keeping its customers happy.
It’s also not likely to happen again, so players should take advantage of the refund this time around. Only if they plan to keep Stadia Pro though.
For those that aim to switch to Base once it launches, you’re better off keeping the game purchases. Especially for TR:DE since it was on sale and won’t be after January comes around
To get the refund, contact Stadia support
You can’t redeem the refund through the normal means. It isn’t difficult to acquire though. If you want the refund, you simply have to contact Stadia support.
You can reach the support page from both the app and the website too. To find the contact info, simply head to the Stadia help page from the app or website. Find and click on the side menu on the left side of the page.
There you will see links for Help Center, Contact Us, and Stadia. Click on the Contact Us link and you will get options for how you want to reach someone. Whether it be a phone call or an online chat.
Alternatively you can also just click this link to go straight to the contact options from your browser. Google’s support teams are reachable 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so you should have no trouble getting a hold of anyone no matter the time.
Unless it’s tomorrow or Friday of course as these are national US holidays.
