Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and Huawei is prepared with a new colorway of its recently released FreeBuds 3 truly wireless earbuds.
The earbuds themselves aren’t extremely new, as they released at the end of last year. In fact we found that they were a great pair of truly wireless earbuds in our review. The color though, is the new addition as they previously only came in Black or White.
The new color of course is Red, which Huawei chose because it says the color „ignites passion and brings people closer together.” That’s the theme of Valentine’s Day after all, isn’t it? Love, passion, and being close with the people you feel that way about.
The Red Edition of the Huawei FreeBuds 3 will not be available in the US
While the earbuds are already available, you can’t buy them in the US. At least not officially or from Huawei’s website.
The reason of course being the ban on Huawei products within the country. For those outside the US though, the earbuds are priced the same as the two other colors, which is €179. This will vary of course depending on where you actually buy them as they could end up being less at some retailers.
If you live in the US and you like the Red color, there’s a chance you may be able to find them on places like eBay.
An open design with ANC
The new color will definitely make these stand out, but there are other features to love about these earbuds. Aside from them being truly wireless, they also feature Active Noise Cancellation.
According to Huawei, these are the first truly wireless earbuds with an open design that have ANC. Which potentially gives them a slight edge over other earbuds in the space.
If you prefer this design that was popularized by the AirPods, these might be for you. And they don’t cost too much either if you’re able to get a hold of a pair. They also feature a series of touch controls, though we found these to be a little more iffy than on some other pairs of truly wireless earbuds.
The best part about them seems to be the sound though. They have great sound quality. Likely better than most will expect, and that makes them a pretty good value for the price. Plus, now that they come in Red, you can show them off a little better.
