The Redmi K30 Pro 5G will become official in March, the company has confirmed. Redmi also confirmed that the phone will offer notch-less design, which means it won’t have a notch or a display hole.
The Redmi K30 was announced at the end of last year, and it actually includes a pill-shaped display hole. Well, the 'Pro’ model will adopt a design similar to its predecessor, it seems. The Redmi K30 and K30 Pro will differ in that regard.
The Redmi K20 Pro included a pop-up camera in order to avoid having a notch / display hole. Well, the Redmi K30 Pro will do the same, it will include a pop-up camera, for better or worse.
The Redmi K30 Pro 5G is coming in March, and its partial design has been revealed
The company has even released a teaser image, confirming the name of the device, and its partial design. As you can see, the phone will include really thin bezels. The phone’s earpiece will sit above the display, and will be a part of the frame, essentially.
The phone’s corners will be rounded, and the same goes for its display corners. The power / lock button will be placed on the right, and it will be red-colored, at least on this variant. The volume up and down buttons will sit above that power key.
It seems like Redmi will include a regular power key on the device, not one that doubles as a fingerprint scanner. That is to be expected, as the fingerprint scanner will probably be included under the display (optical one).
We don’t exactly get to see the bottom part of the phone’s front side here, but chances are the device will offer extremely thin bezel on the bottom as well. It is even possible it will be as thin as the top bezel.
On the back, the phone may adopt a similar design to the Redmi K30. That means it will include a rather interesting camera module design. Its cameras are expected to be aligned vertically, with a round design element around it.
This smartphone will almost certainly be fueled by the Snapdragon 865 SoC, while the Snapdragon X55 modem will also be included for 5G connectivity.
The device is expected to include LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.0 storage
The device will include LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.0 (perhaps even 3.1) storage. We’re expecting to see at least 8GB of RAM on this phone, if not more. A 4,700mAh battery is rumored, along with fast charging. Some rumors are suggesting 33W fast charging will be included, while others are betting on even faster charging. We’ll see.
The Redmi K30 includes a 6.67-inch fullHD+ 120Hz display, and the K30 Pro could ship with a similarly-sized display. We do hope that the Redmi K30 Pro will include an OLED display, unlike its sibling, however.
There you have it. The Redmi K30 Pro, Redmi’s new flagship, will become official in March, even though we still don’t have an official launch date.
