While UFC 249 just took place this past weekend, UFC isn’t stopping. UFC Fight Night Jacksonville is taking place on May 13 – there’s another Fight Night happening on May 16. And it’ll feature Smith vs Teixeira.
The main event will see Anthony Smith vs Glover Teixeira. Smith is currently ranked #3 in the light heavyweight division. He’s a former title challenger and has 29 wins by knockout or submission. Smith is coming off of a submission victory over Alexander Gustafsson in June. And has won four of his last five fights. The only loss was coming to Jon Jones back in 2014.
The other big match on this card is Ben Rothwell vs Ovince St. Preux. Rothwell has 28 wins by knockout and is a two-time performance of the night winner. This will be Ben Rothwell’s 50th pro fight and he’ll be going for his 2nd win in a row. 34 or his 37 wins have come by finish. While St. Pruex is tied for most submission and stoppage wins in UFC Light Heavyweight history.
UFC Fight Night Jacksonville will be exclusively live on ESPN+, with immediate playback available on linear TV. So if you want to watch it live, you will need to sign up for ESPN+, which you can do so by clicking here.

As mentioned, there are two Fight Nights happening this week. This is one of the first times that UFC is having a Fight Night in the middle of the week. But with the pandemic and almost all sports being on hiatus right now, it’s good to see UFC working to keep us entertained during this uncertain time. The second Fight Night takes place this Saturday, May 16.
