With Android 11 Beta 2, we’re still finding some small tweaks in the newest version of Android. And this time, Google has decided to make some changes to „Conversations” once again.
There is now a dedicated space for settings management on Conversations. All you need to do is go to Settings then tap on Apps and Notifications to reach it.
For the majority of people the screen will be blank. But once you start tagging conversations as priority, default or silent, they will start showing up in that section. Now, that section could get pretty long, as it shows each conversation for each app, within those settings. So if you message a lot of people, it’ll get pretty long.
The area states „Once you mark a conversation as priority, or make any other changes to conversations, they will appear here.” Google also shows a pop up when you mark a conversation as a priority on the first run, which includes a link to the new Settings page in Android 11.
Google still making tweaks to Android 11’s biggest feature
The biggest feature for Android 11 is definitely the new Conversations. And Google is still making some tweaks. Which is fine, that’s what Beta is all about. However, at this point, this is likely the last of the tweaks Google will make. Even though we are scheduled to get one more beta before the final release on September 8.
It’s a pretty big change for Android 11. Along with bringing Bubbles to all of the messaging apps on Android. Though the majority of them still do not support bubbles just yet. But that will likely change in the near future, as more apps are updated to support Android 11.
There are many other features coming in Android 11, though for the most part this is a pretty minor release. And that’s to be expected, considering this is a pretty mature operating system at this point in time. Though, Google does continue to mess with the notifications with each new release, and it somehow makes them better each time.
Android 11 is expected to be released to all Pixel smartphones on September 8. Google confirmed it, themselves in the Smart Home Virtual Summit live stream last night. So unless there are any unforeseen delays in pushing out the final release, expect it to come the Tuesday after Labor Day. Just as Google did it last year with Android 10. It should hit other devices starting in October.
