Google announced a wide array of new games coming to Stadia during today’s Connect event, including Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, 2019’s game of the year thanks to its robust, insanely challenging combat and engaging story.
Sekrio was initially released for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. And now it’s coming to Stadia as one of the new options for players. What’s more is that it’ll be arriving this Fall alongside titles like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
That being said there was no word on an exact date for Sekiro. So it could launch sometime before AC Valhalla or after.
Sekiro isn’t the only big new game coming to Stadia
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice isn’t a new game per se. It is new to Stadia though. And it’s games like this that are going to help Stadia in a major way.
Stadia users can also look forward to a new upcoming game from Square Enix. One that should entice fans of Destiny 2. In addition to Sekiro, Google also announced the AAA title Outriders.
This is going to be a third-person RPG shooter that offers both single player campaign content as well as the ability to play co-op with a team of two other people. While it won’t be entirely like Destiny 2, it will offers some similar elements that the Destiny universe helped to pave the way for.
Google didn’t announce a date for Outriders either, but it’s supposed to arrive this year (in December) on multiple platforms. Stadia should be one of those, but it will also launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
Outriders isn’t the only game coming to Stadia from Square Enix either. On September 1 players will get access to Hitman 1 and 2, with Hitman 3 coming in January of 2021.
Other big games coming to the platform include Serious Sam 4 in August, WWE 2K Battlegrounds on September 18, PGA Tour 2K21 on August 21, and NBA 2K21 sometime this Fall. Dead By Daylight will also be coming in September alongside the long-awaited  Crowd Choice and Crowd Play features.
There’s a wealth of smaller indie games and timed exclusives coming too
Today’s Connect was mostly about games, but there were bits and pieces of new information revolving around features and partnerships.
For example, Google’s in-house game studio Stadia Games & Entertainment, will be partnering with Harmonix of Rock Band fame, as well as the studio behind Until Dawn, Supermassive Games. The partnership includes Uppercut Games too.
All of these partnerships will lead to games and content that are going to be available on Stadia only. When it comes to exclusives (timed or not), games like Orcs Must Die 3 are available on Stadia as of today. Meanwhile others will be launching later this year and beyond.
Super Bomberman R Online will be a battle royale style Bomberman game that will be exclusive to Stadia for a limited time, starting this Fall. Outcasters is also coming this Fall, while One Hand Clapping which is a 2D puzzle platformer is available in early access starting today.
