Now's Your Chance To Build An Empire With Civilization VI

Sid Meier’s Civilization VI is a highly regarded game in the strategy franchise, and one that’s been out for a while. Both on console and PC, as well as iOS.
This week marks the first time that Civilization VI has been available on Android though. The game is being published by Aspyr Media. The same company who’s behind the release of Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic on Android.
Of course the two games are very different. As Star Wars: KOTOR is an open world RPG game, while Civ VI is all about building a lasting empire that will stay around for ages upon ages.
You can try Civilization VI for free
Not sure if you’ll like the game? Not a problem, because you can try it for free.
Aspyr Media is letting you test out Civ VI for the first 60 turns so you can get a feel for how things work. After that 60 turns though you’ll have to purchase the full game. And it ain’t cheap.
Should you want to continue playing, it’ll cost you $20. That being said this is a full console game more or less. It’s simply been adapted for mobile devices.
Those that are used to picking up some of the Final Fantasy ports from Square Enix are also likely to be used to these game costs. However, there is DLC available for purchase. And there’s quite a few of them.
So keep in mind that while the main game is only $20, there are two additional major DLCs available at $30 and $40 respectively. As well as a handful of smaller DLC packs from $5-$10.
There’s a tutorial so don’t worry about being unfamiliar with how to play
Strategy games can be a bit of an undertaking if you’re not used to them. Especially ones as in-depth as Civ VI.
Like many games on Android these days though, there is a tutorial. You can play through it if you want some assistance on learning how to play and what to do. According to the Play Store listing, players are guided through the underlying concepts of the game.
So it seems you aren’t told what to do every step of the way. Rather, you’re led by the hand for a little bit so you learn the base mechanics, but then you’re on your own from there.
Civ VI launched officially on August 13, and it’s available to download from the Play Store as of right now if you feel like checking it out.
