OnePlus is rolling out a new Oxygen OS update to its latest flagship OnePlus 8 Pro. The new OxygenOS 10.5.13.IN11DA update for the OnePlus 8 Pro comes in just 138MB of size and includes the Android security patch for the month of August 2020.
This new update is currently limited to only the OnePlus 8 Pro users in India. As of now, there is no information about the rollout of the same update for the users in the US and Europe.
OnePlus 8 Pro receives Oxygen OS 10.5.13 update with August Security Patch
According to the changelog, the Oxygen OS 10.5.13 update only includes bug fixes and improvements. After the new update, the front camera is mentioned to have an optimized shooting effect. Furthermore, the company also fixed the overlapping character issue when using the Ambient display mode.
The previously released Oxygen OS 10.5.12 update, which came in at 245MB in size, included several new features like the support for OnePlus Buds and new clock styles. In comparison, the August update is a minor one with no special features.
Since it is an incremental rollout, the update will take a few days to show up on all eligible devices. Also, interested users can manually check for the new update by going to Settings > System > System updates. If there is any update available, tap on the „Download & Install Now” button.
Earlier this week, the company also rolled out the Android 11 Developer Preview 3 update for the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro smartphones. While the new Oxygen OS 11 is currently in the developer beta stage, the first public beta will be released on September 8.
Oxygen OS 11 stable update might release in October
If everything goes as per the plan, the stable update can be expected by the end of October. The OnePlus 8, 8 Pro, and Nord could be the first smartphones to receive the Oxygen OS 11 update. This new update gave us a glimpse of the many new features that are coming with the upcoming Oxygen OS 11 update.
OnePlus is redesigning several first-party apps including Weather, Gallery, Notes, and Launcher. Also, the new UI changes made for better one-handed usage look very similar to the One UI on the Samsung smartphones. It is also finally introducing the Always-on display with several new clock styles and features.
The shortcut for dark mode is also coming to the Quick Settings menu. OnePlus is also revamping the Zen Mode with enhanced functionality like new themes and more time options. With Oxygen OS 11, the users can also create groups in Zen mode.
