A new set of T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy phones are picking up updates. Notably, T-Mobile is rolling out the latest August 2020 security patch for the Galaxy Note 10 series and Galaxy S10 5G.
Samsung is pretty fast when it comes to rolling out new security patches. However, carrier variants have always failed to catch up with the OEM on this front.
The good news is that T-Mobile Galaxy Note 10, Note 10+ and Galaxy S10 5G users can upgrade their units with the latest security patch. The update will hit the units via OTA in batches.
The changelog mentions only the August security patch as part of the enhancements. So, there are no cosmetic features involved in this update for the trio.
T-Mobile Galaxy Note 10/10+, and S10 5G updates are purely incremental
The update for the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 10 is seeding with version N970USQS4CTG1. While the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 10+ users are getting the August patch with version N975USQS4CTG1.
It’s around 230.46 MB in size. For more info about the latest August patch, you can head on to T-Mobile Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ official software update page.

As usual, the updates will arrive via OTA. Moreover, if you have not yet grabbed the update notification then, you can head over to Settings > Software update > Download updates manually.

The Galaxy Note 10/10+ and Galaxy S10 5G are eligible for Samsung’s 3 year Android OS update policy
As Samsung entered a new decade with the flagship smartphones, with the launch of the Galaxy Note 20 series, Samsung also announced the flagship phones will be getting 3 years of Android OS support.
Other OEMs that provide 3 Android OS updates are Google and OnePlus. Besides, with this announcement, Samsung also joins this prime league.
Notably, Samsung S10 and Note 10 series are also eligible to pick up three Android OS updates. This means that the duo is eligible for picking up Android 12 as well.
Keep in mind that the Galaxy S10 and Note 10 series came with Android 9 Pie out of the box. And Android 11 update will be the second major OS update for both the series.
However, another thing to note is that the unlocked model will pick up the Android 11 update first. While the carrier variants will have to wait to get a green signal before the update hits the units.
