How To Watch The NFL In 2020 Without Cable

The NFL is getting ready to kick off its 2020-21 season this weekend, with week 1 of the NFL season. And with sports having been gone (for the most part) for the last six months, we’re all excited to watch the NFL once again.
It’s hard to believe that Super Bowl 54 was over six months ago at this point. Not to mention all of the changes that took place during the off-season. Like Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski taking their talents to Tampa Bay this year. Among other trades.
This year is bound to be a good one, and you won’t want to miss a second of the action. If you don’t have cable, you aren’t out of luck though. As there are more places than ever to watch the NFL this year, without having to pay for cable.
How to watch NFL games
This season, the games will be broadcast on the usual networks, CBS, Fox, NBC, ESPN and the NFL Network. CBS, Fox and NBC are free to everyone, as those are over-the-air channels. But ESPN and NFL Network will need to be included in your streaming TV plan to get the games on those networks. Luckily, the majority of them are on Fox and CBS.

As mentioned, CBS, Fox and NBC are free, over-the-air channels. So all you need to watch the games on those networks, will be an antenna. And if you don’t have one, Amazon has a ton of them (literally). And some are pretty cheap. We’re talking under $10.

You can hook one up to your TV and watch the majority of the NFL games for free this year. Of course Monday Night Football and some Thursday Night games won’t be available. But about 98% of this season’s games are available over-the-air.
AT&T TV Now
AT&T TV Now is one of the many providers that offer access to NFL games this year. It includes CBS, NBC, ESPN and Fox. The only channel missing is the NFL Network. However, you can upgrade to the „MAX” plan to get the NFL Network, if you really want it. AT&T TV Now is going to cost you $55 per month, and it does come with a limited DVR.

FuboTV
FuboTV is the streaming TV platform for sports fans. It starts at $55 per month, and offers access to almost every sports network out there. Even ones you’ve never heard of before.
With FuboTV, you are getting access to CBS, Fox, NBC, ESPN and the NFL Network at that price. And you also get Cloud DVR (500 hours of space) so you can watch the game later on. On top of that, if you forgot to record a game, you can use the 3-day replay feature to replay just about any game later on. Or any show or movie too.

Hulu with Live TV
Hulu with Live TV also comes in at $55 per month. It includes CBS, Fox, NBC and ESPN. It does not include the NFL Network. Hulu with Live TV is also available with only one plan, so you can’t add it on with a higher-priced plan, like with AT&T TV Now, either.
Hulu with Live TV does offer a Cloud DVR option, but that is an extra cost, of $10 per month.

Sling TV
Sling TV is by far the cheapest way to watch the NFL this season, without buying an antenna.
Sling TV comes in two packages – Sling Blue and Sling Orange. These are both priced at $30 per month, or you can get both for $45. Sling Blue includes NBC and Fox. While Sling Orange includes ESPN. Unfortunately, CBS and the NFL Network are not available on Sling TV. So now you know why it’s much cheaper than the other options on this list.

YouTube TV
Finally, we have YouTube TV. This is a personal favorite of mine, and one I use actually. YouTube TV will cost you $65 per month. It includes NBC, CBS, Fox, ESPN and the NFL Network (which it just added, in time for this season).
On top of that, with YouTube TV, you also get unlimited free DVR storage space for recording anything and everything. You can literally record everything on YouTube TV – because I do.
