A new leak has revealed some key information on the Samsung Exynos 2200 chipset which will feature on the company’s Galaxy S22 flagship early next year. While the leak reveals the clock speed of the upcoming chipset, a few other features are yet unknown.
Coming via Ice Universe on Twitter, the leak reveals that the Exynos 2200 will sport three CPU clusters. The main or “prime” Cortex-X2 core will reportedly clock at 2.9 GHz while the next three will have three cores at 2.8 GHz. The remaining four cores will run at 2.2 GHz.
Another interesting revelation by Ice Universe is that this configuration of the Exynos 2200 would be limited to the Galaxy S22 Ultra. This indicates that the standard Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22+ could feature different CPU configurations.

Meanwhile, the AMD mRDNA GPU accompanying the Exynos 2200 is gearing up to be one of the best mobile GPUs yet. Recent graphics benchmark results have shown the Exynos 2200 obliterating its competition.
The AMD GPU’s excellent performance is due to its clock speed of 1,250 MHz. This puts it on par with some desktop-grade GPUs. However, the AMD GPU was delayed by a year due to overheating trouble. Perhaps Samsung and AMD can come up with a fix in time for the Galaxy S22’s release early next year.
Ahead of the official release of the Exynos 2200, we’ve encountered multiple benchmark scores detailing its prowess. A report in July said that Samsung’s new chip could comfortably outperform the Qualcomm Snapdragon 895 chipset.
Samsung’s intentions to include the Exynos 2200 with the Galaxy S22 is no longer a secret thanks to recent revelations. Benchmarks told us that the Exynos 2200 would be based on the ARM v8 architecture and not the newer v9 cores.
The same leak went on to reveal that the Galaxy S22 (SM-S906B) will run on Android 12 with One UI 4.0. Although only an 8GB RAM model was listed, Samsung will likely offer a 12GB RAM variant at launch.
While benchmark scores are exciting, a lot will depend on how this translates to real-world performance. If everything falls into place, Samsung may well have a winner on its hands with the Exynos 2200.
