It’s now possible to access Amazon’s Luna cloud gaming service through Samsung Gaming Hub, the two companies announced today. Samsung Gaming Hub launched back at the end of June offering consumers a centralized place to discover games. It initially included access to services like GeForce NOW, Stadia, Xbox Game Pass, and Utomik. Alongside other apps like Twitch, YouTube, and Spotify.
In addition to access to popular cloud gaming services, Gaming Hub would also surface a collection of popular titles that could be found within them. Giving players a good place to start when deciding what to play. Adding Amazon Luna to the mix expands that collection of titles. It also expands Luna’s reach on available hardware.
Samsung Gaming Hub brings Luna to Samsung TVs and monitors
With Luna now available in Samsung Gaming Hub, Samsung is the first major TV brand not running on Amazon’s Fire TV platform to open up access to the cloud gaming service. Luna can also be accessed on Android devices, iOS devices, Fire tablets, Chromebooks, and via web browsers like Chrome, Edge, and Safari.
Consumers with a compatible 2022 Samsung TV or monitor will be able to access Luna with few steps. First they’ll need to link their Luna account to Samsung Gaming Hub. From there they should be able to launch the Luna app and pick a game to start playing. All without downloads.
Of course, you’ll need a controller to play with, right? Don’t sweat it. You can use the Luna controller if you own one. But if you prefer, it’s also possible to connect any other supported Bluetooth controller and use that instead. Which should include options like the Xbox wireless controller, the DualShock 4, the DualSense, and many others. This all thanks to Samsung Gaming Hub’s controller passthrough technology.
Out of the available cloud gaming options, Luna offers the smallest library of titles with more than 250 games to choose from. But it never hurts to have more options as a consumer. Luna should be available to anyone with a compatible Samsung TV or monitor starting from today. Samsung doesn’t say that you’ll need update your TV or anything either, so the service should just show up within the Gaming Hub app.
