Watch 11 minutes of Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom gameplay

Nintendo today has shown off some new gameplay footage of the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, giving players a new look at various parts of the game. The video includes over 11 minutes of gameplay footage and showcases some pretty cool mechanics. Such as new abilities for Link that allow you to rewind object direction and fuse items together.
The ‘Fuse’ ability in particular seems like a rather interesting ability concept. In the video, you can see Link fuse together a number of different items. Some of these allow link to make new weapons. Such as a really long polearm by fusing together a long stick with an even longer pitchfork. What really caught my attention though was the ability to fuse items from your inventory to your arrows for new and exciting effects.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom gameplay shows off new Fuse ability
Nintendo shows off a few items here – fusing a leaf to an arrow for what looks like wind effects, and fusing an item called White ChuChu Jelly to add an elemental ice effect. Allowing the arrows to freeze enemies. You can also fuse an eyeball dropped from defeating an enemy to add homing to your arrows for hunting. This seems cool and all, but it really gets you wondering what happens when you fuse other items to your arrows. Like, what happens when you fuse that raw meat? Does the game even allow this? What sort of power would it add to your arrow shots? These are questions that need answers.
While you may not be able to fuse everything, it does seem like there is a fairly large amount of things you can piece together. So much so that the fuse ability seems like it’s going to be a huge part of the game. Some enemies will even carry fused weapons. So Nintendo is really leaning into this mechanic. If you want to check out the gameplay for yourself, you can view in the video above.
