There are so many different controllers out there for consumers, you couldn’t possibly need another option, but PowerA is hoping you do because it just announced the MOGA-XP Ultra.
PowerA says this is the first officially licensed controller on the market that was designed to be used “interchangeably with Xbox, PC, and mobile.” That means PowerA specifically designed this controller to be a one-stop-shop for all three platforms. And took into account what would make a good controller for use on those platforms.
The end result of PowerA’s research and development is a controller that conforms to the needs of the player. It does this with the use of a modular design that allows you to pick how you want to play games. Modular controllers aren’t new. In fact, PDP’s Victrix Pro BFG wireless controller for PS5 is modular, and lets you swap out four action buttons for a dedicated set of fight buttons. You can also rearrange the order of the joysticks. But as modular as it is, it’s not modular like the MOGA-XP Ultra.
The MOGA-XP Ultra is essentially four controllers in one
Having a great controller is cool and all, but, what if you had a controller that was really four controllers? That’s more or less what you’re getting with the MOGA-XP Ultra.
It’s a full-size controller, a mini-pad, and then also both of those things with a mobile phone clip. So you can play four different ways and choose the one that best fits your needs. Basically, the controller is just the mini-pad. But it can slot into this specially designed grip that turns it into a full-size controller.
And the addition of the phone clip makes either orientation suitable for mobile gaming. Whether those mobile games are on Android or iOS, or cloud games. The controller is also wireless, comes with two remappable buttons, and it comes with dual rumble motors.
PowerA also says the battery can last for up to 60 hours. So it won’t be dying on you quickly. The PowerA MOGA-XP Ultra is available starting today for $129.99, and you can pick it up on Amazon or directly through PowerA.
