Samsung to equip Galaxy S23 FE with flagship-grade selfie camera

The Galaxy S23 FE may capture better selfies than Samsung‘s last Fan Edition (FE) phone, the Galaxy S21 FE. That’s because the upcoming model is getting a flagship-grade front camera. According to the Dutch publication GalaxyClub, the device will feature the same 10MP selfie shooter found on the base and Plus models in the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S21, and Galaxy S22 lineups.
If you quickly check the Galaxy S21 FE’s specs, you might feel that the Galaxy S23 FE’s 10MP selfie camera is a downgrade from the 32MP unit that Samsung used on the previous FE phone. But a higher resolution doesn’t mean a better camera. The 10MP sensor that we are talking about here is a flagship camera that boasts features like Dual Pixel autofocus, which allows for fast and accurate focusing even in dimly lit environments.
The 32MP selfie camera found on the Galaxy S21 FE, meanwhile, is a mid-range solution. So this change means the Galaxy S23 FE will bring another flagship feature to a lower price point. While it isn’t the best selfie camera Samsung has on offer (the Galaxy S23 series uses a 12MP sensor that produces better selfies), it’s better than what the FE lineup previously gave you.
The same source previously reported that the Galaxy S23 FE will upgrade the main camera as well. We are expecting a 50MP primary shooter that Samsung used on the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S22 flagships. It’s good to see the Korean firm treating the FE lineup more like a flagship than a premium mid-range phone. That said, the new phone reportedly won’t upgrade the zoom lens. It will keep the 8MP sensor from the previous model, with 3x optical zoom capabilities.
The Galaxy S23 FE will use older flagship processors
Samsung’s push to make the Galaxy S23 FE more appealing to prospective buyers will see it equip the phone with flagship processors, but not the latest ones. To keep the cost down, the company is using the Exynos 2200 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chips, which powered the Galaxy Ss flagships as well. Like before, buyers in the US and China will get Snapdragon, while the rest of the world will get Exynos.
Interestingly, Samsung recently relaunched the Galaxy S21 FE with a Snapdragon processor in India. So maybe the company will mix things up a little this time around. We can say for sure once the new FE phone is officially here, which may happen sometime in September or October. There hasn’t been any word about the existence of the Galaxy S23 FE from the Korean firm yet, though. The post Samsung to equip Galaxy S23 FE with flagship-grade selfie camera appeared first on Android Headlines.
