It looks like Samsung is serious about making its innovative folding technology more accessible. For months now there has been talk about a more budget-friendly clamshell-like foldable. Now, the possible price of the device, which has appeared in the news under the names “Galaxy Z Flip FE” and “Galaxy Z Flip Xe,” has been leaked.
This could be the price of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE in Korea
Samsung hasn’t officially announced this “Fan Edition” of its Z Flip series. However, according to recent reports originating from Korea, the Galaxy Z Flip FE could be priced at around 1 million Korean won. Now, translating that directly to US dollars gives us an estimate of $736. Of course, international pricing can vary due to several factors like taxes and import duties. But this ballpark figure offers a tantalizing glimpse into Samsung’s strategy to make foldables more mainstream.
If this leaked pricing holds true, the Galaxy Z Flip FE would be significantly more affordable than the current flagship Galaxy Z Flip models. It could finally be a real tipping point for many.
Leaks have revealed some interesting details and specifications about the Z Flip FE. Of course, you can expect some compromises here and there. But Samsung wants to maintain a high-end user experience, just by charging less. For example, while the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip will use a Snapdragon chip, the Z Flip FE will rely on the Exynos 2500. On paper, the latter should be quite powerful. However, it’s the real-world performance that really matters. Samsung would also limit the available color options to just two.
That said, the device would offer a screen experience similar, if not identical, to that of the current Galaxy Z Flip 6. So, you won’t have to settle for a cheap foldable display. We’ll be keeping an eye out for any new details that emerge in this regard before the launch.
