Samsung's One UI 8 for Galaxy Watch 7 Expands Globally

Samsung is now pushing its newest software, the One UI 8 Watch, to the Galaxy Watch 7 series global units. As usual, the company began the firmware rollout last week in South Korea, its home country.

Based on Wear OS 6, One UI 8 Watch is a big update for Galaxy Watch 7 devices. According to reports, the OTA is officially reaching Europe, Asia, and other international markets, bringing a host of improvements to both the user interface and core health functions. It’s noteworthy that the Galaxy Watch 8 series and the Watch Ultra (2025) already shipped with One UI 8 Watch installed. Now, older flagship models can get the upgrade.

The firmware package weighs in at around 1.9GB and carries the September 2025 security patch. The rollout applies to both the Bluetooth/Wi-Fi and LTE versions of the Galaxy Watch 7. Users can expect a more refined and smoother experience compared to previous iterations. System animations and transitions now feel even smoother. Plus, various apps have been upgraded to improve usability and accessibility.

A refreshed look and smarter navigation

The most immediate change users will notice is the redesigned user interface. Samsung introduced updated app icons, watch faces, and widgets, along with a sleek new charging animation. Navigation receives a major boost with two key additions. Users can now choose a grid layout for the app drawer, offering a visual alternative to the traditional list view. The new Now Bar also enhances real-time notifications directly on your wrist, and the customizable Tile system allows users to quickly access information like weather and calendar events. You can even create your own custom tiles by combining functions.

Furthermore, the update supercharges accessibility. Notifications for messages now appear in neatly grouped stacks, and you can clear them instantly using an enhanced double pinch gesture. This gesture has become more powerful, letting you scroll through lists, control music playback, and even snap photos remotely. A new Low Light Mode for select watch faces, such as the Sporty Classic and Heritage Classic, ensures less disruptive viewing in dark environments.

Deeper health and fitness tools

The Samsung Health application sees several substantial upgrades focused on improving wellness routines. New Bedtime Guidance tools aim to provide better insights and advice for improved sleep tracking and quality. Runners can now take a 12-minute test to accurately determine their current running level. Furthermore, the Running Coach gives personalized training programs based on their results. Finally, the update expands the Mindfulness tools, adding features like mood tracking and breathing exercises designed to help with focus and stress reduction.

If you own a Galaxy Watch 7, you can access the One UI 8 Watch update through the Galaxy Wearable app on your smartphone. Simply navigate to Watch settings > Watch software update > Download and install to begin enjoying these new features.
