One UI 8 Could Bring Upgraded Audio Eraser Feature

If you find the Galaxy AI’s Audio Eraser feature, Android 16-based One UI 8 will reportedly bring a useful upgrade to it. According to a new leak, the updated feature will allow you to remove unwanted background sounds in real-time during video playback. The news came via renowned tipster, Ice Universe, who has a pretty solid track record with Samsung-related leaks.

The upgraded Audio Eraser in One UI 8 won’t require you to enter edit mode

It’s worth noting that the tipster shared the upgraded Audio Eraser working live in a video. However, for some reason, the video was taken down. The tipster reportedly found the upgraded Audio Eraser feature in an internal build of One UI 8. Fortunately, Ice Universe posted the video later via a Weibo account, and it is now available to watch. You can check it below.

From the looks of it, One UI 8’s Audio Eraser feature filters out the distracting sounds from the background itself. In other words, you won’t even have to enter editing mode to erase the background distracting sound. If Samsung goes ahead with the feature, it would be a significant improvement over what Audio Eraser currently delivers.

Do note that Audio Eraser currently requires you to edit the video to apply background noise reduction. Not to forget, Samsung hasn’t officially confirmed the upgraded Audio Eraser as a feature in One UI 8. But this leak certainly hints that the company is working on it. That’s not all; Samsung could be improving other Galaxy AI features, which it might drop as part of the One UI 8 update.

The upgraded feature could debut on Samsung’s next-gen foldables

Audio Eraser first debuted with the One UI 7-powered Galaxy S25 series earlier this year. At this point, the feature is available to many older Galaxy smartphones as part of the One UI 7 update. Now, the upgrade is said to debut with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, which Samsung could unveil next week at the July 9th Unpacked event.
