HONOR's Huge Battery Smartphone Won’t Use a Flagship Chipset

HONOR is preparing to raise the bar in the smartphone market. The Chinese tech giant has been working on a model with a 10,000mAh battery for some time. Recent rumors have also revealed the processor this new phone will use.

Which Chipset Will Power HONOR’s Huge Battery Smartphone?

Reliable sources claim that MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500 chipset will power HONOR’s smartphone with a huge battery. This chipset, manufactured using TSMC’s 4nm N4P process, will feature eight Cortex-A725 cores and a Mali-G720 GPU.

The company won’t make a significant CPU architecture change to the processor compared to its predecessor, the Dimensity 8400. At least on the CPU side, the chipset does not bring a major performance boost.

However, it can be said that the previous rumors that HONOR’s 10,000 mAh battery model will come with MediaTek Dimensity 9500 are unfounded.

Additionally, the fact that the handset does not use a flagship-level processor suggests that there may be some limitations in areas such as thickness, display, and camera quality.

When will HONOR Release Its Phone with a 10,000 mAh Battery?

HONOR’s new phone is currently in development, and there’s no official release date yet. Rumors say that the Redmi Turbo 5, the first model to feature the Dimensity 8500, will go on sale at the end of 2025, meaning the company could unveil it in 2026 as soon as possible.

Another thing is, of course, the smartphone’s name. Although the company has not officially confirmed it yet, rumors say that this massive battery model will succeed the HONOR Power, which the company released in April 2025.

HONOR Power featured a massive 8,000mAh battery. This suggests the HONOR Power 2 could be the closest model to a 10,000mAh capacity.
