HONOR is gearing up for the launch of its next-gen clamshell foldable smartphone, the Magic V Flip 2. Yesterday, the company officially revealed that the device will launch on August 21 in its homeland, China. Besides the launch date, HONOR also showcased the design and color options of the upcoming flip phone. Now, some of the key specs of the HONOR Magic V Flip 2 have been leaked, courtesy of popular Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS).

According to the tipster’s Weibo post, HONOR’s Magic V Flip 2 will flaunt a 6.82-inch internal flexible LTPO AMOLED display, offering Full HD+ resolution. The inner screen will also feature a refresh rate of 120Hz. Speaking of cover display, the phone will feature a 4-inch Full HD+ LTPO panel. The good news is that the cover display will reportedly also come with a 120Hz refresh rate. 

On the rear, the Magic V Flip 2 will sport a dual camera-lens setup, with a 200MP primary camera and a 50MP ultrawide sensor. For selfies, HONOR is offering a 50MP front-facing camera. The upcoming clamshell foldable phone will pack a 5,500 mAh battery. That’s a massive bump, considering that the predecessor, the Magic V Flip, only offered a 4,800 mAh battery. 

The HONOR Magic V Flip 2 will reportedly offer 80W fast wired and 50W wireless charging support. It will also pack Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC under the hood for handling performance. Worth noting that the Magic V Flip 2 will include a side fingerprint scanner. 

The device will be thin and lightweight

HONOR is also focusing on keeping the device as thin as possible. The tipster further notes that the Magic V Flip 2 will be 6.9mm thin when unfolded (open) and 15.5mm when folded (closed).

That’s not all; the phone will be considerably lighter, weighing around 204 grams. When launched, the device will be available in four color options. Moreover, it’s worth noting that HONOR is collaborating with Prof. Jimmy Choo for a special edition variant of the soon-to-launch Android phone.
