Apple’s big iPhone 17 event was today, and Apple finally lifted the curtain on more than a few products that people have been waiting on for months. All the new products were anything but a complete surprise, as they’ve leaked in some capacity leading up to the September 9 event. However, there were still several unknown details about each device, and plenty of pieces of information that may have leaked but weren’t confirmed.
Apple’s iPhone 17 event puts all those rumors to rest and lays out all the details on the company’s latest hardware, which includes the iPhone 17, the iPhone 17 Air, the iPhone 17 Pro, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max when it comes to smartphones. Apple also introduced three new smartwatches. The Apple Watch Series 11, the Apple Watch SE 3, and the Apple Watch Ultra 3. Lastly, Apple also announced the AirPods Pro 3. In this post, we’ll round up everything that was announced during the event, just in case you happened to miss it. Think of it like a one-stop shop for all things Apple.
Apple iPhone 17
Apple hasn’t altered the design much here, and why should it when the design is well-liked by its customers? To that end, the design for the iPhone 17 is pretty much the same; however, it does now have a larger display. One of the biggest draws with this new phone is that it now comes with a 48MP Fusion main camera. This is a big step up for base model iPhone users as they’ll end up with more stunning photos than ever before.
The Apple iPhone 17 also now comes with the A19 chip for improved performance. Apple briefly talks about this during the event, noting how the A19 will make a significant difference for those who enjoy mobile games. The iPhone 17 also now starts with 256GB as the base storage option. Plus, Apple isn’t even raising the price. The base model iPhone 17 will cost $799 for the 256GB model, and go up from there depending on how much storage you need.
Apple iPhone 17 Air
Apple’s long-rumored super-thin iPhone, the Apple iPhone 17 Air, has made its official debut. Whether or not it’s everything Apple fans wanted it to be, one thing is clear. The iPhone 17 Air is a pretty darn thin device. According to Apple, the iPhone 17 Air measures just 5.64mm thick. That’s considerably thinner than the iPhone 17, but not quite as thin as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 when unfolded. However, it is thinner than Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge, which measures at 5.8mm thick.
The iPhone 17 Air also comes with the A19 Pro. This is a super-powerful chip from Apple that really cranks up performance. So, if you like aesthetically pleasing device designs, but also love mobile gaming, the iPhone Air will probably suit you. Just because it’s thin doesn’t mean it isn’t durable, either. Apple made the chassis from polished grade 5 titanium (with a mirrored finish) for style and durability. The phone also comes with a 6.5-inch 120Hz display. So it’s plenty big for playing games, and the refresh rate will be great for games too.
If you’re worried about battery life, Apple says the iPhone 17 Air is the most power-efficient iPhone ever made, thanks to the A19 Pro, N1, and C1X chips.
Apple iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max
Apple’s most powerful, most advanced iPhones in this series are the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. These are generally the phones you want to go for if you want Apple’s no-holds-barred approach to performance and features. They have the best cameras, the most powerful chips, and the biggest screens, usually with the longest battery life.
In this particular case, that isn’t entirely true anymore now that the iPhone 17 Air is here. It has the same combination of the A19 Pro chip together with the N1 chip that these phones have. Plus, it has the C1X chip and a 6.5-inch screen, whereas the iPhone 17 Pro screen is 6.3 inches. The refresh rate is the same at 120Hz, too. Basically, from a pure performance standpoint, the iPhone 17 Air goes toe-to-toe. The iPhone 17 Pro Max, on the other hand, is the kingly beast with the largest display at 6.8 inches. Both Pro model phones come with three 48MP Fusion cameras on the back, one of which is the main camera, while the other two are Ultrawide and Telephoto.
Apple also says both phones have an immense leap in battery life and significantly improved scratch resistance on the display. Speaking of the display, it’s incredibly bright this year, with Apple stating the displays have a peak brightness of 3,000 nits.
Apple’s AirPods Pro 3 are finally here
Apple’s AirPods Pro 3 have finally made their debut, and they bring in some notable improvements over the previous model. Not the least of which is the improved comfort and more secure fit. With the AirPods Pro 3, Apple says it did over 10,000 ear scans to ensure the earbuds fit a much wider variety of users’ ears. They also now come with 5 sizes of ear tips, and the ear tips are foam-infused on the inside for more cushioning and to ensure a better seal.
Users will find that these new earbuds also come with improved battery life. They will now last up to 10 hours on a single charge. This is with the transparency mode enabled. Battery life is up to 8 hours with the active noise cancellation on.
Speaking of active noise cancellation, this is another big improvement. The ANC in the AirPods Pro 3 is 2x better than the AirPods Pro 2, and they remove 4x more noise than the original AirPods Pro. It’s so good that Apple claims these offer the best active noise cancellation of any in-ear headphones on the market. There’s a wide spread of other new features, too. Such as heart rate sensing, live translation, and more. The AirPods Pro 3 retail for $249.99, putting their price on par with the previous model.
Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3, and Apple Watch SE 3
Apple’s last three devices announced today are its new lineup of smartwatches. Although they were ahead of the phones during the event. The Apple Watch Series 11 heads up the trio of new watch models, boasting watchOS 26, a thinner and lighter body than the Apple Watch Series 10, and several new features like Hypertension notifications.
The Apple Watch SE 3 also offers Hypertension notifications, as well as sleep apnea notifications, and alerts for several other health-related metrics. It comes running on watchOS 26 as well, and it’s powered by the S10 chip for a more powerful SE model than ever before.
Lastly, there’s the Apple Watch Ultra 3. It’ll have everything the Apple Watch Series 11 has, plus the largest display on an Apple Watch to date. Apple has improved battery life in this model as well, boasting up to 42 hours on a single charge. All of Apple’s latest devices go up for pre-order starting on September 9, and they launch on September 19.
