Lately, OnePlus has been taking some big moves, right from breaking off ties with its long-term camera partner, Hasselblad, to already readying its next flagship, the OnePlus 15. In the latest development, the company is now opening its AI space. It is launching the OnePlus AI PlayLab, which basically allows people to test and explore new AI features in the OnePlus ecosystem.
OnePlus introduces AI PlayLab
OnePlus describes AI PlayLab as not just any other feature. It apparently is a space where “your ideas come alive.” The company is partnering with some of the industry’s biggest players to provide users with the “power of one of today’s most advanced AI large models.” The company calls this significant move to integrate AI, “empowering your creativity, and making your device smarter than ever.”
Additionally, with OnePlus AI PlayLab, users who sign up get early access to test and explore new features ahead of their launch. OnePlus says that, from generating summaries of articles and audio to creating unique social media content, the “possibilities are vast.” The feedback from the early testers will influence OnePlus in improving or redesigning certain AI features for better functionality.
YumSee and Party Up AI features
The fun doesn’t end there. OnePlus has previewed two new AI features that are in testing: YumSee and Party Up. The former is a text translation AI feature that translates menus. All you have to do is upload or take a photo of the menu that you want translated, and then select the preferred language. YumSee uses AI to clean and translate the text to a language you understand.
As for Party Up, it uses AI to animate your static photos into “lively party-themed videos.” Instead of manually editing, you can choose a template to convert images into short-form videos. There are various templates like “Party Dance,” “Party Cheers,” or “Birthday Party.” AI will detect subjects, apply natural motion, and add effects to create a video. Users can try out these features via OnePlus AI PlayLab.
