Earlier, Apple mentioned that all iPhone 17 models will start shipping from September 19. However, it appears that the iPhone 17 pre-orders have opened to a warm response, as Apple has pushed the iPhone 17 Pro Max’s shipping dates to October.
iPhone 17 pre-orders show huge demand for Pro models as shipping slips to October
When Apple first started taking pre-orders for the new iPhones, the product pages for most models on the company’s e-store showed shipping dates beginning from September 19. However, within an hour, the shipping date for the iPhone 17 Pro Max slipped back to at least one week. The pre-orders for all iPhone 17 Pro Max configurations show a delayed shipping date.
Meanwhile, the new bold orange color iPhone 17 Pro Max models are in huge demand, as the pre-order pages are showing shipping dates slipping to October. All four storage variants of the orange iPhone 17 Pro Max, including the $2,000 2TB model, won’t start shipping any time before October 6.
Furthermore, Apple has delayed the shipping of the early pre-orders of the silver iPhone 17 Pro Max’s 512GB and 1TB models till October 6-13. The company has also delayed the shipping of the 256GB and 2TB memory variants of the silver edition by up to 10 days from the original September 19 date. It appears that the blue iPhone 17 Pro Max is the least popular Pro Max model this year, with all four colorways delayed to only a week or 10 days.
No shipping delays for other iPhone 17 models
At the time of writing this story, Apple’s e-store in the US is showing that all three other iPhone 17 models—the iPhone 17, Air, and 17 Pro—will start shipping from their original September 19 release date. The vanilla iPhone 17 is still widely available to pre-order for launch day shipping in all colors and memory configurations.
As for the all-new, ultra-slim iPhone Air, its pre-orders will also start shipping from September 19 in all combinations of color and memory.
