Amazon has announced its new 2025 Fire TV lineup at the official Amazon hardware event it held on September 30, and there are several new devices coming from the company this year, including a new 4K Fire TV Stick version that you can pick up for considerably less than the regular 4K model. For context, the latest version of the Fire TV Stick 4K launched at a retail price of $49.99.
Amazon’s latest model, the Fire TV Stick 4K Select, comes in at $39.99, which is a $10 price drop. You might be wondering what Amazon changed to justify that decrease in the price tag. There are some differences. For example, the Select model doesn’t support Alexa+, Xbox Game Pass, or Amazon Luna at launch. Amazon says these are coming soon, so they will eventually be available features.
One thing it won’t be getting is Live View Picture-In-Picture. It also supports Wi-Fi 5 instead of Wi-Fi 6. However, it runs on Amazon’s new Vega operating system and should be more snappy when moving around menus and such. It is worth noting that Amazon currently has the Fire TV Stick 4K on sale for $24.99. So, if you want some of those other features right away, it’s currently cheaper than Amazon’s new Select model.
The 2025 Amazon Fire TV lineup includes new Omni QLED models with brighter displays
Amazon isn’t changing a whole lot with its new TV devices, but it does have some new Omni QLED offerings coming. While fairly similar to the current models, they do come with a significant upgrade to the display, specifically with regard to brightness. Amazon says the new Omni models are now 60% brighter than the current offerings that came out in 2024.
In addition to being brighter, they now adjust more easily to any lighting changes in the room where they’re set up. Amazon’s new Omni QLED TVs will start at $479.99 for the 50-inch model, and go up from there depending on the size of the screen.
Amazon has even cheaper options, too. The new Fire TV 2-Series and Fire TV 4-Series models start at $159.99, with TVs being anywhere from 32 inches to 55 inches in size. These all offer 4K, slim bezels, and Amazon says they’re 30% faster than the previous models. All of Amazon’s new TV devices are up for pre-order starting September 30 and will be released starting in October.
