Global OnePlus 15 & OPPO Find X9 to Keep 7,000mAh+ Battery Cells

For years, global smartphone enthusiasts have suffered the disappointment of watching Chinese flagships launch with immense battery specs, only to see that capacity shrink when the device arrived internationally. This size reduction often happens because of strict regulations governing the safe air transport of single, high-capacity battery cells. However, that unwelcome tradition is finally ending. OPPO and OnePlus are preparing to launch their next-generation phones on global markets—the OPPO Find X9 series and the OnePlus 15—without trimming the impressive, oversized batteries they debuted in China.

OPPO Find X9 series will not get a battery nerf in global markets

The company recently turned heads in the tech world with the announcement of its OPPO Find X9 series. The flagship Pro model boasts a humongous 7,500mAh cell. Meanwhile, the standard Find X9 easily exceeds 7,000mAh, being also massive. To put that into perspective, the previous top-tier model, the Find X8 Ultra, peaked at around 6,100mAh.

The news for fans outside of China arrived courtesy of recent listings. In the case of the global versions of the Find X9 and Find X9 Pro, tech tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore spotted official EU Energy Labels listings that confirm these colossal capacities in international units. What makes this feat even more noteworthy is that OPPO achieved this level of endurance while keeping the device relatively slim. More specifically, they achieved a thickness of only about 8 millimeters for the X9 lineup.

Global OnePlus 15 will also maintain a gigantic battery

The battery excitement continues over at OnePlus. The brand just confirmed its upcoming OnePlus 15 will feature a 7,300mAh battery. This is the largest cell ever placed in a OnePlus device. Fortunately, Amazon listings spotted by Telegram account Equal Leaks confirm that the global version of the OnePlus 15 will maintain the same battery capacity.

How they beat the regulations

So, how do manufacturers manage to ship such high-capacity batteries across borders without violating air transport regulations? The likely answer involves a clever technical solution: the dual-cell approach.

Instead of using one single 7,500mAh cell, the companies can split the total capacity into two smaller units—say, two 3,750mAh cells. These are wired together inside the phone. The dual-cell configuration sidesteps certain regulatory limits on the size of a single cell that can be safely shipped internationally. By adopting this engineering workaround, both OPPO and OnePlus could deliver maximum endurance to global consumers without compromise.

As both flagships prepare for their full international launch, consumers can expect a big leap in battery life. These phones aim to set the highest standard for smartphone endurance in the next generation.
