The OnePlus 10T is the company\u2019s latest high-end smartphone. The device got announced not long ago, and it actually has a lower price tag than most mainstream flagships these days. OnePlus did have to cut some corners to get there. So, how does this phone compare to the best of Samsung? Well, we\u2019re here to find out. In this article, we\u2019ll compare the OnePlus 10T vs Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.
\nSome of you may argue that the Galaxy S22 Ultra is no longer the best of Samsung, with Samsung\u2019s foldables out now, but it is the best regular-form smartphone from the company, so\u2026 that\u2019s the one we\u2019ll be comparing. We\u2019ll first list the specs of the two phones, and will then move to other categories. We\u2019ll compare their designs, displays, performance, battery life, cameras, and audio performance.

\nThe OnePlus 10T and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra have considerably different designs. The OnePlus 10T includes a flat display with a centered display camera hole, and an interesting-looking camera island that seems to protrude from the frame (even though it\u2019s not). The Galaxy S22 Ultra, on the other hand, is a lot curvier. It has a heavily curved display, and flat tip and bottom sides. Each of its cameras is implemented separately on the back, they\u2019re not a part of a camera island. The Galaxy S22 Ultra also has a centered display camera hole, though.
\nThe OnePlus 10T comes with a plastic frame, and a glass backplate (Gorilla Glass 5). The Galaxy S22 Ultra has an aluminum frame, and a glass back (Gorilla Glass Victus+). They are almost equally tall, while the Galaxy S22 Ultra is a bit wider. They\u2019re almost the same in terms of thickness as well. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is heavier, though. The in-hand feel is considerably different in comparison, which is not surprising at all.
\nBoth phones do feel premium, though, while both feel very slippery as well. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance, while the OnePlus 10T is not. It is technically water resistant, but it doesn\u2019t come with a certification, and the warranty won\u2019t do you any good if water damages it. The bottom line is, both phones feel very premium, but also different. You should try holding both before you make up your mind, if possible.
\nOnePlus 10T vs Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra: Display
\nThe OnePlus 10T features a 6.7-inch fullHD+ (2412 x 1080) Fluid AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. That display is flat, and it supports HDR10+ content. It can also project up to 1 billion colors, and offers a 20:9 display aspect ratio. We\u2019re looking at a ppi of 394, while Corning\u2019s Gorilla Glass 5 protects this panel.<\/p>\n

The Galaxy S22 Ultra, on the flip side, sports a 6.8-inch panel. That display is curved, and we\u2019re looking at a QHD+ (3088 x 1440) resolution here. This is a Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. This display also supports HDR10+, and it gets brighter than the one on the OnePlus 10T. It gets up to 1,750 nits of brightness, which is achievable only in auto mode. This panel offers a ppi of around 500, and it is protected by the Gorilla Glass Victus+.
\nSo, are these two displays any good in regular use? Well, they\u2019re more than good, they\u2019re excellent. The Galaxy S22 Ultra\u2019s panel is technically better on paper, but you won\u2019t notice that much of a difference, other than in the brightness department. First, you need to decide whether you want a flat or a curved display, and then consider everything else. Both displays offer great viewing angles, and are quite sharp (even though the Galaxy S22 Ultra\u2019s is sharper), not to mention that they\u2019re quite vibrant as well. There\u2019s not much to complain about here.
\nOnePlus 10T vs Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra: Performance
\nBoth of these phones are immensely powerful. The OnePlus 10T comes with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. It also includes up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 3.1 flash storage. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or Exynos 2200, depending on your market. It includes up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 3.1 flash storage. These specs go into the OnePlus 10T\u2019s favor.
\nThe Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is a bit more powerful than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. It also offers better power consumption, and thermals. The Exynos 2200 is below both SoC, and it\u2019s used only in European Galaxy S22 Ultra units. In day-to-day use, both phones perform really well. We did notice fewer stutters on the OnePlus 10T, though, which was to be expected. Do note that we used the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 model of the Galaxy S22 Ultra, not the Exynos one.
\nIn regular tasks, you\u2019ll be happy with both phones. The same goes for gaming, actually. Both of these phones can run pretty much anything out there. If you want a bit smoother experience, though, the OnePlus 10T may be a better call. OnePlus is well-known for making phones that remain smooth for quite some time. The difference is not all that big, though, and the vast majority of people probably won\u2019t even notice.
\nOnePlus 10T vs Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra: Battery
\nThe OnePlus 10T includes a 4,800mAh battery pack, while the Galaxy S22 Ultra has a 5,000mAh battery. The Galaxy S22 Ultra does have a slightly larger display, which is higher-res as well. Is the battery life good on any of these two phones? Well, yes, it is, on both. The OnePlus 10T does pull ahead in that regard, and quite a bit so. The Galaxy S22 Ultra actually cannot match its predecessor in terms of battery life, but it\u2019s not that far away.
\nThe battery life on OnePlus\u2019 new handset is just insane. We were able to cross the 10-hour screen-on-time mark while using the device, which his\u2026 well, crazy battery life. We were constantly getting amazing battery life with the device. The Galaxy S22 Ultra will also be more than enough for the vast majority of you, though. Getting over 6 hours of screen on time on the phone is doable, as long as you\u2019re not straining the processor with games.
\nWhen it comes to charging speed, the OnePlus 10T is way ahead. The phone supports 150W wired charging (125W in the US), while the Galaxy S22 Ultra offers support for 45W charging. Wireless charging is not supported on the OnePlus 10T, though. The same goes for reverse (wireless) charging. The Galaxy S22 Ultra does support 15W wireless charging, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.
\nOnePlus 10T vs Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra: Cameras
\nThe OnePlus 10T comes with three cameras on the back, while the Galaxy S22 Ultra has four. OnePlus\u2019 handset includes a 50-megapixel main camera, and an 8-megapixel ultrawide unit, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The Galaxy S22 Ultra sports a 108-megapixel main camera, a 10-megapixel telephoto unit, a 10-megapixel periscope camera, and a 12-megapixel ultrawide unit.<\/p>\n

That being said, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is easily the better choice when it comes to the ultrawide camera. It simply takes better, more detailed ultrawide photos. The same goes for zoomed-in shots, due to the lack of proper hardware on the OnePlus 10T. The macro camera on the OnePlus 10T is not particularly useful either, the sensor is basically not good enough. OEMs should stop using 2-megapixel macro cameras.
\nThings are a bit different when it comes to main sensors. The OnePlus 10T does take good pictures with its main camera, especially after the latest update. It still cannot match up to the Galaxy S22 Ultra. The Galaxy S22 Ultra shots usually look more lively, and better balanced. The same goes for low light shots, actually. The OnePlus 10T is still a good camera phone, at least when it comes to its main camera.
\nAudio
\nNeither of these two phones includes a 3.5mm headphone jack. You\u2019ll have to rely either on the Type-C port, or Bluetooth. Both devices are equipped with Bluetooth 5.2, in case you were wondering.
\nBoth devices are equipped with stereo speakers. The ones on the Galaxy S22 Ultra are tuned by AKG, and they do have a slightly fuller sound. The pair on the OnePlus 10T are also really good, though. Chances are you won\u2019t be disappointed with either pair.
