Samsung\u2019s launch of the Odyssey Ark gaming monitor officially starts today which means you can now get your hands on one for a cool $3,500. Sure, it\u2019s not the most economical gaming monitor you can buy. But there\u2019s something to be said for the type of experience you get when using it. Assuming you can afford to part with the money to cover its price tag.
\nSporting a 165Hz refresh rate, the Odyssey Ark is hardly the fastest screen out there for gaming. But even at 165Hz, you\u2019re still getting a refresh rate that is going to be suitable for most people. Plus, you\u2019re not really buying the Odyssey Ark for the fastest refresh rate out there. You\u2019re buying it for the insanely big screen with its immersive curvature and ability to be swivel into a portrait view that Samsung calls \u2018Cockpit Mode.\u2019
\nBeyond that, the Odyssey Ark offers tons of other cool features. Like the \u2018Sound Dome\u2019 audio powered by four speakers and two woofers embedded behind the screen. There\u2019s one speaker in each corner while the woofers are in the center. Additionally, there\u2019s HDR10+ gaming support, and a 16:9 aspect ratio. And it\u2019s got a 1ms response time.
\nSamsung\u2019s launch of the Odyssey Ark sets a new precedent
\nAt $3,500, you aren\u2019t going to see these in every single home. To be sure. But that doesn\u2019t stop the Odyssey Ark for setting some new standards and at the very least driving some innovation. The use of the Sound Dome technology alone is one of the cooler features. And if you aren\u2019t super concerned exceptional high-tier audio, the monitor\u2019s built-in audio will get the job done and then some.
\nThe Odyssey Ark also features what Samsung calls the Flex Move Screen. A software feature that lets the user adjust the size of the display all the way down from 55-inches to 27-inches. With other specs like 4K UHD resolution and a mini-LED panel, as well as HDMI 2.1 support, the Odyssey Ark is a beast of a gaming monitor. And because of the One Connect box that comes with it you can more easily hook up multiple devices. Like your PC and PS5\/Xbox Series X.
\nThe Odyssey Ark is officially on sale through Amazon and Best Buy, and directly through Samsung.
