This marks another update that the Korean giant is pushing to its phones.
Samsung is usually early to the table when it comes to updating its phones. It sometimes sends out updates before Google sends out updates to its Pixel phones. That’s really saying something. Heck, the company is beta testing the Android 13-based One UI 5.
Now, the US carrier-locked Galaxy S22 phones are getting the September 2022 security patch
While it’s not quite Android 13, this update is essential just like all other security patches. The company previously released the update for its unlocked Galaxy S22 phones, but, now, the update is coming for those on carrier contracts.
This update carries the firmware version S90xUSQS2AVHL for T-Mobile and S90xUSQS2AVHH for Xfinity Mobile. The update should weigh about 200MB, and it will offer the usual security updates. It will patch vulnerabilities in the system that pose a security risk. This update fixes 24 different issues that affect Galaxy devices.
Along with the security patches, you can expect run-of-the-mill bug fixes and stability improvements as well. There aren’t any visual changes or changes to the functionality as you can expect. If you’re waiting for the update, it should be rolling out now.
Go to your settings and find the Software Update section. There, press the Download and Install button on the bottom of the screen. At that point, your phone will do a search to see if it has the update yet. If it says your phone is up to date, you’ll need to wait a bit for it to hit your phone.
In Other Samsung News: Samsung Recently Suffered A Data Breach
Samsung recently told its users that a user was able to hack the company and gain access to user data. It said that the bad actor was able to get their hands on names, registration information, demographic information, and dates of birth.
The company is currently facing a class action lawsuit over this drama. The company will release more details as the ongoing investigation continues.
The post US Carrier-Locked Galaxy S22 Phones Get The September 2022 Update appeared first on Android Headlines.

Source: ndroidheadlines.com

The September 2022 security update is now out, and Samsung is pushing it to the US carrier-locked Galaxy S22 phones.
