Because of this, 8K TVs run the risk of being banned in Europe next year, according to SamMobile.<br \/>\nEurope is going to set strict energy use requirements on TVs, and these requirements are going into effect next year. These energy requirements will mean that manufacturers won\u2019t be able to push TVs on the market that consume a lot of energy.<br \/>\nAs you can imagine, 8K TVs consume a lot of energy. Not only are the screens very pixel-packed, but they remain plugged in 24\/7. These devices are a nightmare for anyone trying to conserve energy<br \/>\nBecause of this, 8K TVs could get banned in Europe<br \/>\nSo, this is not good news if you are a TV manufacturer. Samsung and other companies run the risk of having their 8K TVs banned in Europe. The 8K Association released a statement saying that:<br \/>\n\u201cUnless something changes, March 2023 will spell trouble for the emerging 8K market. The power consumption limits on 8K TVs (the micro LED-based displays) are set so low that essentially none of these devices will pass.\u201d<br \/>\nThis means that the majority of the 8K devices on the market will be banned. That will eat into the sales of notable 8K TV manufacturers such as Samsung.<br \/>\nFortunately, this isn\u2019t entirely official yet. It\u2019s still in the early stages, so there\u2019s a chance that it might not go through. Since this is a major governmental decision, the European Union is probably still working on all the paperwork.<br \/>\nIf the EU decides not to go through with this, then the TV companies will have nothing to worry about.
