April Fool\u2019s is usually reserved for mostly lame jokes and plenty of companies observe this strange holiday, but not SEGA this year, which just launched The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog on Steam today.
\nYes, we know April Fool\u2019s Day is tomorrow here in the states, but most companies have been putting out their jokes early. SEGA however, chose to observe April Fool\u2019s by putting out a very real game in which Sonic actually dies. Yes, the Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog is a real game that you can play right now on your PC. \u201cHappy April Fool\u2019s Day (observed)! Except it\u2019s real. Enjoy!\u201d the official Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter account says.
\nIf you\u2019re not quite ready to see the blue blur in such a state, maybe go play Sonic Frontiers instead. Or any number of other Sonic games where the heroic hedgehog saves the day from Dr. Eggman and his goons. But if you\u2019re up for a delightfully weird take on the franchise, give this riveting whodunit a go.

\nThe biggest reason to play this game is because you love Sonic games, and you wanted to try something different. The other reason is because the game is free game on Steam. It\u2019s probably not a very long game, but you should get a few hours of enjoyment out of it from start to finish. Though truth be told, we have no actual idea how long it is since we haven\u2019t played through most of it yet.
\nThis is a visual novel game with point and click adventure elements. So it\u2019s pretty easy going and a very casual gameplay experience if you want something low-stress. Your goal throughout the game is to solve the mystery of Sonic\u2019s murder. Familiar characters abound in this murder mystery, with the likes of Tails, Knuckles, Amy Rose and more here to help you crack the case!<\/p>\n
