The official launch of Honkai: Star Rail has arrived, with the game now being available to download. The epic space fantasy RPG from Genshin Impact developers HoYoverse can be played on Android, iOS, and PC via Windows and the Epic Games Store.
\nIt\u2019s a free-to-play game featuring a similar anime art style and a semi-open world experience. At the start of the game players (known as trailblazers) will set out from a space station recently invaded by the Antimatter Legion, one of the game\u2019s main enemy factions. You initially take control of two of the game\u2019s supporting story characters. But are quickly tasked with choosing a male or female main character to continue the story. Just as you did with the Traveler in the beginning of Genshin Impact.
\nWhat transpires after is much of what you\u2019ve come to love about Genshin with a unique spin.
\nThe launch of Honkai: Star Rail brings fresh gameplay
\nFans of Genshin Impact will notice many familiarities between it and Honkai: Star Rail. But there are two main components that have changed. Exploration is not nearly as vast and massive. And combat is now turn-based as opposed to real-time action. This shakeup makes for a fresh take on HoYoverse\u2019s formula. Though many aspects from the studio\u2019s previous game are still present. For instance, this is still a gacha game. Players will eventually have the opportunity to add new characters to their team lineup.
\nAnd all of those characters will have their own unique abilities centered around one of the game\u2019s many different elemental power affinities. Elements like fire, lightning, ice, and wind will all strike a chord with Genshin Players. As they mimic the elements pyro, cryo, electro, and anemo. There are also a few interesting newcomers, such as quantum, imaginary, and physical.
\nWhile the game hasn\u2019t been out long, it already seems to be off to a great start. You can check out the official launch trailer below, and you can find the game for your preferred platform. Unfortunately, that doesn\u2019t include PlayStation at this time. A PlayStation version of the game is coming, but the release date is still pending as that version is still in development.
