The At a Glance widget in the Google Pixel launcher is great at keeping you updated on certain events. As useful as it is, Google is still adding functionality to it. According to a new report from 9To5Google, the At a Glance widget may soon get loud sound alerts.
\nThe At a Glance widget is a very useful part of the Google Pixel experience. As the name suggests, you can get important information just At a Glance. It will show you which Bluetooth device you just connected to, the current weather, serious weather alerts, timers, upcoming alarms, the air condition in your area, and more. You can adjust the settings by simply holding your finger down on the widget itself and pressing the Customize button.
\nThe At a Glance widget might give you loud sound alerts
\nFirst and foremost, you will want to take this information with a grain of salt. This information was discovered in an APK Deep dive performed by 9To5Google. This means that this feature is still in the works, and the company has yet to officially announce it. It could change or be pulled at any moment before launch.<\/p>\n

Taken at face value, this feature would seem a bit redundant. When you\u2019re in an area where there are ear-damaging sounds, the widget will warn you and advise you to step away. It seems odd that the system will warn you of loud sounds when you can hear them for yourselves, but the point is to warn you when the sound is so loud that it could potentially cause hearing damage.
\nSo far, it seems that this feature will be exclusive to the Pixel 7 phones at first. The strings for this feature were discovered in the latest version of Android System Intelligence for Pixel 7. There\u2019s even a screenshot showing the toggle for the feature, but we\u2019re not sure if they were able to get it working.
\nWe\u2019re not sure when Google will unveil this new feature, but since Google I\/O is just around the corner, so there\u2019s a chance that we may see it pop up during that event. We\u2019ll just have to wait and see.
