The Galaxy Watch 6 recently picked up the FCC certification. The new watches are rumored to debut at the end of July, along with new foldables and flagship Android tablets.<br \/>\nThe FCC certified four different variants of the Galaxy Watch 6 (SM-R930, SM-R935, SM-R940, and SM-R945). The former two are respectively the Bluetooth and cellular versions of the 40mm model, while the latter two correspond to the 44mm model of the watch. The certification listings didn\u2019t reveal any notable new detail about the devices. It\u2019s the usual stuff, such as support for wireless charging, NFC, Bluetooth 5.3, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a\/b\/g\/n, and LTE connectivity (cellular versions only).<br \/>\nThe Galaxy Watch 6 series uses the same 10W (5V\/2A) charger as the Galaxy Watch 5, the FCC documents reveal. The charger has the model number ER-OR900. While the regulatory body didn\u2019t reveal the battery capacity of the watches, earlier rumors suggest they will pack marginally bigger batteries than their respective predecessors. We are expecting a 300mAh battery inside the 40mm model (up from 284mAh), while the 44mm model could get a 425mAh battery (up from 410mAh).<br \/>\nBigger batteries, paired with a more efficient processor, should bring about a notable boost to the Galaxy Watch 6\u2019s battery life. Rumors have it that Samsung will equip the upcoming watches with a new Exynos W980 processor. It\u2019s fabricated on the company\u2019s improved 5nm process node and will reportedly bring at least a ten percent performance boost over the Exynos W920 that powers the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5 series (also a 5nm chip). Software enhancements brought by Wear OS 4-based One UI 5 Watch should also help improve the user experience.<br \/>\nSamsung will also launch the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic in two sizes<br \/>\nThe FCC may have already certified four Galaxy Watch 6 variants, but Samsung has four more of them in the works. The company is also readying the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic in two sizes: 42mm (SM-R950\/SM-R955) and 46mm (SM-R960\/SM-R965).<br \/>\nThese variants will share most of the internals with the aforementioned ones, including the processor and batteries. The 42mm variant will pack a 300mAH battery, while the 46mm option gets a 425mAh battery. However, they will look a lot different. The Classic models will feature a physical rotating bezel. Samsung is bringing back the iconic bezel ring after committing it from the Galaxy Watch 5 series last year. Leaked 3D CAD renders recently revealed its design.
