That’s according to NPD Group’s Mat Piscatella in a recent tweet from August 2 (via Push Square).
In the tweet, Piscatella notes that the average amount of money people in the US spent on accessories in June had increased by quite a significant amount. With dollar spend jumping up to $214 million in the month compared to the same time in 2022. A total that amounted to a 14% increase. It might be a surprise to learn that the DualSense Edge was June’s best-selling accessory. Given it’s high $199.99 price tag. But those that have used it seem to love it.
This bodes well for Sony. Showcasing its PS5 pro controller was a success and that finally making an official pro controller was a good decision. There’s clearly a demand for such accessories. And popularity of controller like those from SCUF are a good indicator of that. Even if the majority of users aren’t buying into the DualSense Edge, there’s no arguing the value of having features like the replaceable thumb stick modules, mappable back buttons, and locking triggers. Plus the host of other features a DualSense Edge affords you.

The PlayStation 5 DualSense Edge remains the best-selling accessory of 2023 in dollar sales.
— Mat Piscatella (@MatPiscatella) August 2, 2023

The DualSense Edge controller was the best-selling by dollar sales
Being the best-selling accessory is certainly an impressive feat. But it is also worth noting that this metric for the DualSense Edge is based on dollar sales. According to Piscatella, the DualSense controller was the majority accessory out of all other gaming accessories in the US. And the DualSense Edge took up the majority of all DualSense controllers sold. As mentioned above, the DualSense Edge costs $199.99. So naturally it’s going to take up a large chunk of the dollar sales.
That being said, it’s important to make the distinction that it wasn’t based on number of units sold. Still, it’s impressive nonetheless. And it’ll certainly be interesting to see if the accessory is able to hold on to that title throughout the rest of the year. The post The DualSense Edge sold better than any accessory in June appeared first on Android Headlines.

Source: ndroidheadlines.com

The DualSense Edge controller is reportedly the best-selling accessory in the US for the month of June.
