Samsung’s next Unpacked event will go down on the 22nd, and we might hear about the company’s upcoming “Slim” phone during the event. Well, the Galaxy S25 Slim just passed through Geekbench, and we got our first look at this phone’s specs.
In case you don’t know, we’ve been following rumors about a slim version of the Galaxy S25. Rather, we believe that it will be called the “Slim”; Samsung could call it something completely different for all we know. Anyway, this device will be much thinner than the core Galaxy S25 devices that the company will unveil. We feel that this phone will go up against the “Slim” version of the iPhone 17 that Apple will launch later in the year. Only time will tell which phone will be the thinnest.
Here are the Geekbench scores for the Galaxy S25 Slim
As always, Geekbench scores aren’t a definitive indicator of a phone’s day-to-day performance, but it’s still interesting to see how certain devices do with synthetic benchmarks. Scores for Android phones have been climbing over the years; back in 2015, most flagship phones could barely tap 1,000 points for their multi-core scores. Now, we’re seeing phones breach 10,000.
The Galaxy S25 Slim won’t shoot quite that high. This phone got a 3,005 for its single-core score and a 6,945 for its multi-core score. We’ve definitely seen higher scores, but that doesn’t mean that the Galaxy S25 Slim will be a slouch. We’re sure that it will be plenty fast.
Other details
Geekbench listings don’t typically give us much information in terms of specs. However, we can typically glean some useful details from what they give us. For starters, we see that this phone will have 12GB of RAM (the listing points to 10.86GB) and run on Android 15 out of the box.
As for the processor, we see that it will use a Qualcomm chip. This should come as no surprise, as we’ve pretty much confirmed that Samsung will use Snapdragon chips for its 2025 flagship phones. The chip in question is an octa-core processor with six cores clocked at 3.53GHz and two clocked at 4.47GHz. This configuration points to the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. Lastly, this phone sports the model number SM-S937U.
Rumored specs
Now, for the unconfirmed stuff! According to previous rumors, the Galaxy S25 Slim might have the leg over the iPhone 17 Slim. The latter is rumored to measure 6.2mm. Well, if the rumors are correct, then the Galaxy S25 Slim will measure just 6mm. Regardless, this phone could still sport a large 5,000mAh battery. Other than that, it could have a main 200MP camera.
We don’t know when this phone will launch, but rumors point to a launch sometime in Q2 of the year. We will find out more during the next Unpacked event. It’s going down in just a couple of weeks!
The post The Galaxy S25 Slim slides through Geekbench, revealing benchmark scores appeared first on Android Headlines.

Source: ndroidheadlines.com

CES 2025 is going on right now, but many tech users are preparing for another major event happening this month.
