Samsung has taken a seat next to Apple as the company that other companies take shots at. After being laughed at by HONOR last year, Samsung is now being targeted by Oppo. Oppo showcased the crease on the Oppo Find N5 next to a Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Ever since the beginning, companies have been coming out with foldable phones with diminishing creases… with the exception for Samsung. Being a whale in a pond, Samsung is the biggest company in the foldable phone market. However, much smaller companies are walking circles around it when it comes to innovation and flattening that dreaded crease. There’s no telling when Samsung is going to work on that because the company seems to be bent on providing the same experience year after year.
The crease on the Oppo Find N5 barely exists
As stated before, companies are throwing taunts at Samsung with the same fire as the taunts that Samsung threw at Apple. The HONOR Magic V3 put the Galaxy Z Fold 6 to shame in terms of thickness. Now, it’s Oppo’s turn. Pete Lau, OnePlus co-founder and Chief Product Officer of OPPO, just made a post on X showing the upcoming Oppo Find N5 next to a Galaxy Z Fold 6.

We see several differences in the phones’ form factors, but the thing that sticks out the most is how different the creases look. As we can see, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 basically has a valley running down the middle of the screen. That’s pretty typical given Samsung’s track record.
However, looking at the Oppo Find N5, there’s a crease, but it’s much shallower. The post shows the phones from two angles. One shows them from straight on while the other one shows them at an angle. In both images, we see that Oppo’s phone is almost as flat as a sheet of paper.
We also see other things like the more rounded corners, rounded frame, and right-oriented selfie camera on the Oppo phone. The phone itself also looks a little bigger, giving the user just a bit more real estate. The Galaxy Z Fold 6, on the other hand, has sharper corners, which is something that we’re not seeing as much across the industry. One example would be the Vivo X Fold3.
So, it looks like Oppo is all set to release an amazing foldable phone this year. Rather than comparing it to the Galaxy Z Fold 6, it might be a closer competitor to the Magic V3. While they’re running different chips, we can still compare their engineering, as both phones are incredibly thin.
The post See the Oppo Find N5’s crease (or lack thereof) appeared first on Android Headlines.

Source: ndroidheadlines.com

The bigger they are, the more they’re picked on.
